Discover Ras Al Khaimah’s Fascinating History The National Museum of Ras Al Khaimah is a must-visit for history lovers. Set in a historic fort that was once the home of the Qawasim ruling family, it’s packed with artefacts showcasing the emirate’s rich past. Ras Al Khaimah, previously known as Julfar, was a key trading hub from the 7th to the 17th century. The fort itself has been a defence post, a family residence, and even a prison before becoming a museum in 1987.
