😍 I love our new dressing gowns - they are super scrumptious. They are from King Of Cotton and are their "0" twist range - very 💰️ but worth it as they are truly snuggly. It will be a slow process brining them all on line because of the cost but we are 18 in so far.

The beautiful embroidery is done by the very talented Mel from Purple Horse in Bishops Lydiard. Mel has done all of our linen embroidery which looks stunning. If you ever need to have anything embroidered just send it to Mel in the post or visit her when you come and stay and she will do it.

🤔have you ever wondered what £500 in plant form might look like? Eek well don't tell Simon as he will get very 😡 but this is it. This is the latest lovely to adorn Coleridge's garden - next to the very spanky new fencing.

And here is Simon demonstrating how tall the fencing is - it is one of my diversion tactics, 😉 get him to model and then he wont notice big plant - 😅

What a beautiful early spring day we have had down here on the Quantocks. The Quantock Hide's garden was looking so pretty. I love this time of year when little snowdrops pop their heads up and we even have early primroses out.

This 👼heavenly card and review were given to us by the lovely family who stayed in Coleridge this last week.

They had 4 woofers 3 of which were very tiny and reactive and one of which was a comited escape artist 👩‍🎨

Happily they were all able to enjoy huge off lead runs not just in their garden but in each of our 3 dog exercise fields including our Woodland Scent Zone. This in turn allowed their human parents to be able to relax and properly enjoy their break 🥰😍

We were in tears. This wonderful bespoke card arrived in the post this morning and it was from the guests who are currently staying in Coleridge.

All the pics on the card are of some of the little things/details that they ♥️ loved about the cottage and our dog exercise fields.

We love sharing this special area with like minded doggie owners and feel so blessed 😇 when not just Simon my efforts but the incredible team who help make our cottages what they are, are enjoyed by our guests both 2 and 4 legged 😀😀

The Quantock Hide's maintenance weeks adventure: Crikey 😌what a month this has been for Simon and Dan (oh and me a little bit being very irritating to the boys as I kept on asking for more stuff to be done - eek !) Anyway here is a little list of the improvements that we have made at the Quantock Hide:

✅️Demolish and re-build an 8 meter by 2.5 meter slatted retaining garden wall
✅️ Build a new boot room/cupboard by the front door
✅️ Demolish, move and re-build the dog spa so it is now to the left of the left hand French windows.
✅️ Dig through quite literally rock, a trench for the hot and cold water pipes for said dog spa.
✅️ Dig in and fit new garden gates for the lower terrace (still waiting for one to come grrrr...!
✅️Build new log shed
✅️ Plant some new lovely sub tropical plants (my job, not very hard :)
✅️ Put down on paths over 3 tons of gravel
✅️ Take up and relay some flooring
✅️ All painted walls, repainted
✅️ All wood work painted
✅️ Additional atmospheric lighting added

Welcome a heavenly set of guests this evening, and being so lucky having an equally wonderful couple staying last week with their 2 woofers, who loved the cottage - see my previous post for their email to us.

On that note I am now off for a very large drink!

Have your 🔔 This is to 🥰 Simons ex police 👮 dog having her physio today. She likes to chat with the physio - a lot 😀 she gave us a nasty scare a while back as she went very lame and a scan showed she had a “mass” in her hind leg 🦵 muscle. We had the ghastly wait while tests were done. Luckily not cancer but a tear and bleed 🩸 in muscle. So lots of physio and laser treatment and she is getting better ❤️‍🩹 but it has aged her and us 😅

Its so lovely that even in the darkest and wettest days of January that lovely guests who before they left the Quantock Hide were are kind enough to email the below to us together with lovely pics of their woofers enjoying their stay.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay in your beautiful Quantock Hide. We love it and simply don’t want to go home! We’ve written in your guest book in the cottage. Where else would you like us to leave a review? We are so happy to be able to do this.

Claire’s Facebook post this evening of our stay is already racking up a lot of likes and loves from our friends and family!

We also wanted to add that your homemade catering service has been absolutely delicious. This really topped off our stay without having to think about shopping or cooking whilst we were here. Such a good idea, lovely menu choices and so tasty.

We’re already looking at our diaries to see when we can come back.

Coleridge’s turn today to be buffed brushed and got ready to meet It’s lovely incoming guests.

Lots has been done during the last couple of weeks. Big relandscaping project at the entrance of the garden. All the internal woodwork painted. All the internal painted walls have been re-painted.

All the soft furnishings have been dry cleaned or washed here.

The curtains in the second bedroom have been stripped down and re/pleated so they hang better.

and not to mention my lovely new throat cushions for the big sofa😀😀

Oh and we had so much time in hand a whole 2 hours that we were ready before guests arrived 😅😅

🥁🎇yet again our AMAZING house keepers pulled off the impossible. Greenway was puffed buffed and polished back in to shape all ready to receive its guests and with 2 hours to spare 😅

Every inch of wallpaper was hoovered. curtains and soft furnishings that had been carefully dry cleaned were rehung and hoovered again. Every ornament, picture frame, and piece of furniture were polished and then all the finishing touches were put in place.

Obviously one cannot have a tea towel without decorations. Likewise obviously you cannot have a shower without a pretty shower cap and as we all know a loo roll 🧻 is not a roll unless it looks like a rose and is decorated and of course no bed or sofa is complete without lots of handmade beautiful cushions just plumped so . These Things are very important 😀

The man that is Dan ♥️💕 and everyone in the world needs a chap like him in their lives 😀 be it building wonderful 🐶🐶 agility courses or fitting fancy new shower rooms or demolishing and building smart new garden fencing or laying patios to carving out and fitting new decking or making dog spa areas you name it this man is a a multitalented master 😀

No panic at all 🙈😱 20 hours until Greenway welcomes its first set of lovely guests post maintenance weeks. Of course it will be all ready and sparkling 😀 just might be a long night and a very early start 🥹😜

The man is a legend 😎 bless him. Simon has not stopped all day and has had some serious multitasking to do.

First up in 0° was the massive task of dismantling part of the Quantok hides garden fence that was damaged by the recent storms.

On his coffee break coming into try and warm up he was then mending Greenways hot tub cover and then late this evening he has and is still painting the new boards that will make up the Hides new garden fence.

Meanwhile, I as the totally helpful wife not 😱🙈went for a lovely ride on Mikey 😝 well it was too nice a day not to!

I love this video of one of our smallest four legged guests enjoying mini barks agility course. But one obviously can’t tell him that he is only tiny because in his mind he is as big as a lion and apparently rules the household including two German Shepherds and a spaniel 😄😄

A truly magical autumn day on the stunning Quantock Hills just above the cottages. If you want peace, Beauty and Tranquility to soothe the soul there really is no better place than Somerset 💕

Check this out. This herd of 29 deer and 1 big stag were JUST on the other side of our 6ft fenced woodland doggie play area. I took our 2 doggos up for an evening walk and was trying to catch the light dappling on the trees when a movement to my left caught my eye - it was this herd. So lovely to be able to be so up close with nature. 😍

Does your woofers like to run free & play but maybe don't have the best recall? 😅 Don't worry we have 3 x 6ft fenced secure fields including a 2 acre wood for them to run and have fun and mini bark and the Woodland Scent Zone also have agility courses.

I know it’s a bit home-made and I look like a hippo but we put together this little video to answer the question that is most often asked of us. As you can imagine it’s not how comfortable Our cottage beds 🛌 are but it is always are our gardens secure for dogs and what height is the Fencing. Each cottage garden is fenced to a minimum of 6 foot and the Fencing is a mix of close board and specialist small mesh net so that even our smallest guests can be happily contained. 🐶🐶🐶
