It’s time to add some more photos from my session with Loulita.

This particular session was a bit out of my comfort zone and that is mainly because at heart I am a documentarian. I’ve spent the past years training my eye to observe (not disturb) and record life, mostly family life. When you shoot an EP cover there is a lot more emphasis on directing and creating a photograph that reflects the vision both of the artist and the photographer. Also, everything is different in a studio shoot: the approach to light manipulation, posing, composition. These are things I’ve done in the past, but they are not in my comfort zone.

But…to be honest, I loved how much this pushed me out of my comfort zone.

Loulita, you made it very easy and your beautiful music helped me chose the mood and the lighting.

Now… after all that said, one of my favourite photographs from the shoot is the one where she wipes her tears away - because that was not something we planned. To me that moment reflects our connection during the shoot, but also her strength in the midst of all the madness of life.

, you are a brilliant singer and I can not wait to see how far you’ll go!

These past couple of years I’ve had the great pleasure of working with amazing people, but I rarely post the photos from the shoots. There are various reasons for that and if you want to know, feel free to ask me, but I can’t promise I will tell you. 😁

Anyway…One of these amazing people is Loulita

We recently worked together to shoot her new EP cover album and also create some images for her music website. It was such a wonderful collaboration and I can not believe that I also get to photograph her family in a couple of weeks too.

Her new EP will be released at the beginning of April. It’s a collection of beautiful songs that have come to life from her journey through trauma and pain. She is a fighter and I love her voice so much! I can’t wait to go to her album release!

I’ll post some more tomorrow, including the one that will be the new EP cover and I’ll tell you a bit of about the behind the scene moments. Until then I hope you enjoy these.

Recently I had the great honour to photograph some amazing talent.

The incredible composed the music and directed a wonderful video staring Rose Leslie (Yup… the Rose Leslie…) and I got to photograph it!!!
