Holywell Bay provides the stunning coastal location for a beach scene in Poldark’s second series with Ross walking on the beach as two children run past. Many dramatic and poignant scenes were also filmed at Holywell Bay, including the courting of Caroline Penvenen and Dr Dwight Enys and also the dramatic scene in episode nine where Demelza wades through the waves fully dressed in her ballgown, first spotted by Ross overlooking from the clifftop above.

Simply the best Tourist Information maps in Cornwall + they have all of the Poldark film locations clearly marked on them.

This week we have started to take delivery of over 350,000 of our 2024 Tourist Information maps of Cornwall.

As always we have used a Cornish business for the production of these maps. Many thanks to DELTOR for their first class product and excellent customer service.

We will start distributing these maps throughout Cornwall over the next three weeks so they are in place ready for Easter.

Porthcothan Bay provided the setting in series one for some of the scenes of the headland around Nampara Cove, the beach close to Ross Poldark’s residence. The beautiful stretch of glorious sand at Porthcothan Bay with its rugged and spectacular cliffs provided an idyllic location for the filming of Poldark.
