Dolomites Traverse 6 September 24!
Despite the very unseasonal weather conditions during the second half of the trek, the group made it across the Dolomites to Dobbiaco. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻These treks are challenging in fine weather, so super well-done for making it in the wind and snow! Incredible week on the Dolomites Traverse this week… led by our superb guide Jasmin. There was sun, rain and even snow, but the whole group completed the trek from west to east. Incredible journey - well done to everyone!

In September a group of Salamander trekkers came together to tackle our brand new trip to the rugged Pyrenees. With a supportive atmosphere amongst the team we overcame high mountain passes and explored remote valleys discovering local wildlife, cuisine and warm hospitality. The trek culminated in crossing the spine of the Pyrenees on a three-day foray into Spain and a celebration of our achievements once back on French soil. Congratulations and thanks to all those who took part in this challenging and unforgettable adventure.

We received such a lovely message from Shawn Bradstreet on our first TMB of the year. Well done Olly Carr.
‘I just wanted to send you a quick photo and note about Oli. As you know, we have done multiple expeditions throughout various continents over the last 15 years and we’ve had a wide variety of experiences. I just wanted to let you know that Oli has been outstanding and our favorite. I can’t ever begin to say enough great things about him as a person and experience as a guide. He is so even tempered and patience and does what is best for the group. He is truly like part of our family and we all truly love having him around. ‘

With vaccination rates rising across the EU, the European Commission believes the time has come to ease restrictions on non-essential travel from overseas.

We are feeling upbeat and optimistic about the summer and our chances of hiking in the European mountains again. The EU has announced there will be a gradual lifting of travel restrictions for US citizens who have received two doses of Covid vaccine from the beginning of May. France has said UK citizens will be welcome from 09 June. We are hoping Italy and Switzerland will too.
