Lakeside Coaches bus service 501 revised from 31st August 2024 with an extra journey at 0810 on Saturdays from Ellesmere and an extra journey at 1455 on Saturdays from Shrewsbury.

Weekdays - the 1620 from Shrewsbury will now run 20 minutes later at 1640.

208 Ellesmere Town Service
Unfortunately we cannot serve Beech Drive due to a car parked to close to the junction where Beech Drive meets Oswestry Road meaning larger vehicles are unable to pass.

The bus will travel down to the Business park roundabout and pick up along Oswestry Road instead.

Shrewsbury service update - due to road works by Mardol Quay, and the traffic coming from bridge street having to be diverted to Frankwell roundabout to then return over Welsh bridge, Please expect delays on the 20/21 service but rest assured that the buses are on there way. We ask for your understanding and patience with the drivers as this is out of our control.

We would like to thank you all for your incredible response to our appeal regarding the damaged windscreen on our new coach.
With nearly 700 shares and loads of publicity from local media pages we are happy to say we have some great evidence and leads giving clear indications of the culprit(s).
Discussions with the police are on going.

APPEAL FOR ANY INFORMATION

This is the newest vehicle on our fleet, at just 3 weeks old it is now out of service due to one idiotic individuals behaviour.

Last night at 22:54, this individual wearing a blue t-shirt and shorts standing on Monkmoor Road bridge over Robertson Way decided to throw something (hard and heavy) off the bridge at our coach causing £3000 worth of damage.
The vehicle was scheduled to take a school to London today but is now off the road until a new windscreen is shipped and fitted-estimated 5 days lost earnings. Thankfully our driver kept the vehicle under control and he had just dropped off passengers, covered in glass shards and a minor cut to his hand we are glad the outcome was not a lot worse!

Any information or footage relating to the incident would be greatly appreciated (confidentialy).

Ellesmere road in Shrewsbury is now reopen so the route will revert back to the original route, we are informed there is a temporary 20mph speed limit along this road. Please be patient but rest assured the bus will be on its way.

15.25 Departure from Meole Brace on time, expect delays on route and possible diversion.

Service Update -
Disruption on the 205 Whitchurch town service, due to the road works along Queensway, the bus stop at the end of the road will be suspended until the road works have been completed and the temporary lights have gone, we will not be able to board or alight any passengers at this stop. Please choose an alternative bus stop.

Due to heavy traffic in Shrewsbury, the 16.20 departure will be about 10 minutes late.
The 17.10 from Ellesmere will be on time as we have a second bus ready to deploy from our depot.

We are deploying a second vehicle to keep to time for trips after lunch.

•Unfortunately this freezing weather has caused a technical problem on the 501 vehicle at Cockshutt this morning, we have sent a replacement vehicle out.
•Please accept our apologies for 20-30 minute delay this morning.

•The 0900 Shrewsbury to Ellesmere will depart on time.

•All other services are running as scheduled.

⚠️ Travelling into Shrewsbury town centre this morning?

🚧 Frankwell Main, Frankwell Riverside and St Julian's car parks are CLOSED until further notice due to flooding.

EDIT - Raven Meadows multi-storey is now OPEN, with access for cars via Meadow Place.

🚌 The bus station is CLOSED due to a power cut, and the following temporary bus terminals will be in place:

▶️ New Park Road, below Beacalls Lane
▶️ Abbey Foregate car park
▶️ Frankwell, by Theatre Severn

🚗 If you need to park we suggest using the Shirehall Overflow car park off London Road.

🚌 But, our advice is to use park and ride or local bus services if possible, or cycle/walk in if you can.
