There’s nothing like a clean slate to start off the new year and our latest project is exactly that! With the help of @mdjamesdigger we have demolished the existing cottage to make way for a stunning traditional masonry built family home designed by @llewellynharkerlowe. As contractors we are very conscious of the environmental impact of construction and M & M Muck Services have responsibly disposed of the waste.
Work has already started on the groundworks and we are excited to share more progress on this site soon.

This is a stunning example of contemporary architecture utilising efficient construction methods twinned with traditional skill, knowledge, and craftsmanship.
The radical design incorporated a hybrid timber and steel frame to deliver the thermally efficient and airtight build whilst preserving the large spans of the opening plan living space and 4m cantilevered main bedroom. @cardiff_and_beyond was brought in to supply the bespoke use of cast-in-situ concrete and our own team of skilled carpenters expertly clad the house in a deeply charred open-jointed @zwarthout_iraq Douglas Fir timber to give the building its distinct appearance.
The dwelling uses a full array of mechanical systems to control, heat and ventilate the internal dwelling environment. An Air Source Heat Pump provides the house with its hot water and space heating whilst mechanical ventilation is managed to recover the heat from stale air before it is expelled. PV panels on the roof and a battery are used to both generate and store generated electricity.
