1st day in the Sacred Valley. Starting with a 2,300ft climb down from the Inca Ruins to the colonial town of Pisac. Tremendous views!

Cusco: a well trod tourist trail on the way to Machu Picchu. Consequently, there’s loads of fabulous boutique hotels! We opted for one in the San Blas area. A converted c1750 Casona, it has locally furnished rooms with balconies, high quality linens and bathrooms, concierge, restaurant, spa, courtyard with fire pit (for a cheeky Pisco Sour) and a turndown service that includes hot water bottles and sleepy time tea! Never felt more at home!

4am alarm call to catch a flight to view the Brazilian side of the largest waterfall system on the planet… increasingly spectacular views as you follow the trail through the forest. Finally getting up close to the ‘Devil’s Throat’.
I’ve never seen anything quite as awesome!
