Namibia - self drive safari !!! Etosha National Park

colleagues review of her family adventure in Namibia (they took her daughter age 10) :

This morning we set off for our full day self drive safari starting at Okaukuejo and travelling all the way past Namatoni to our next stop Onguma. We were skeptical about how we'd get on as inexperienced safari guides but with the help of our map we managed to find lots of waterholes and see so much wildlife - lions, zebra, elephants, giraffes, rhino, jackals, ostrich and babies, the list goes on!! It was an amazing day and we really felt like we'd achieved something finding all this wildlife on our own. As if the day couldn't get better we arrived in Onguma late afternoon to be greeted by a huge elephant right outside the door of our room - lots of elephants frequented the waterhole here throughout the evening entertaining us during dinner and post dinner drinks. They get a lot of big cats here too but the elephants dominated during our stay! You can do game drives and various other activities including walking safaris from this lodge

Loved my visit to Uluru and Kata Tjuta - spectacular!

Rising ⬆️ dramatically from the Central Australian desert, the huge red rock of Uluṟu is one of Australia’s most iconic attractions ✨.

For Aṉangu, Uluṟu is inseparable from Tjukurpa, or traditional law. The actions of the creation ancestors are still visible around the rock 👣, and their stories are passed on from generation to generation, just as they have been for thousands of years 💬.

Uluṟu is made of sandstone about half a billion years old. It stands 348 metres tall 📏 and has a circumference of 9.4 km.

Uluṟu is at its most stunning around sunrise and sunset 🌄, when the golden light makes the rock’s colours come alive.

Jakki is very knowledgeable about the places in the world anyone would want to travel. She was really helpful in booking our trips and particularly when we had to rearrange our flights to another travel date. Nothing was to much trouble for her to find out about and help us in making decisions.
