As a tourist guide I spend my summers making sure that my clients have the best time when visiting South Wales. I pay attention to detail, find out what makes my individual clients happy and ensure my tours are bespoke to their needs. And I remember to take a little time out to recharge my batteries so I’m fresh and ready to go again. This “me” time is very important for guides. This summer I have visited beautiful Scotland from Glasgow to Inverness and the Western Highlands. I have a colleague in Scotland; The Chaotic Scot - Scottish Travel Blog whose knowledge and expertise is second to none. If you’re planning a visit she is the lady to speak to! And if you’re planning a trip to Wales then you might want to look me up. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Facebook asks me what’s in my mind? Today I am thinking that when booking a tourist guide remember to look carefully at the small print. Does the company advertise qualified professional guides? If it doesn’t remember this. Guides work very had to get their qualifications. They are properly insured and trained to ensure your safety and wellbeing as well as to provide you with a wonderful professional interesting and fun experience. We wear our badges with pride and always advertise our qualifications.

It’s nice to have a day off once in a while during the busy summer period. This coffee is making me feel loved.

Can you imagine crossing the English Channel in a boat like this? That’s exactly what one Mr Thomas did in 1974. It took him 13.5 hours to do it in his traditional Welsh coracle. Normally these boats were used on the rivers of Wales. Two fishermen, each in their own coracle stretched a net between them to catch Salmon and Sewen. The shape of the coracle varies from region to region. A variation of these boats has developed independently across the globe.

Sarah’s Wales Travel Planning

With more than 13 years experience helping and advising visitors to Wales I can help you to plan your trip. I do the research and advise you, telling you what’s realistic and achievable in the time you have available. You choose what you want to do and stay in control. I’ll save you time planning and during your stay. I’ll also ensure you know the tricks to get the most affordable travel. You can be sure that I will save you money - almost certainly more than it costs you to engage my services! Itineraries from £29 a day. Why not pay a one off fee to review your plans (just to check you don’t miss anything or try to pack in too much) £40. Would you like a meet and greet in Cardiff upon arrival? £35 My background is working in Tourist Information Centres in Wales, answering all kinds of enquiries to aid people on their adventures around Cardiff, The Vale of Glamorgan and the rest of Wales. Passionate about Wales and all that it has to offer, I spend much of my time exploring Wales and researching and planning so I can share my knowledge. I love to share this information and want every visitor to get the very best out of this fantastic country. I’ve also worked for National Trust and The Museum of Cardiff. I hold a World Host qualification and I’m a Wales Coast Path Ambassador. I love to find the quirky, the curious and the hidden gems.
