With my friend who has a new show on at . I thank him for spending some time to talk me around his exhibition. Really interesting to hear his very frank explanation of the work he’s done which really leaves you wanting to let your eyes dig deeper into the work. There’s no pomp with Peter. Like Josef Liesler, who I grew up with on the walls it’s something of a prop to the imagination to me. Gets one thinking laterally. Details of the show if you swipe 👉. Well done Peter. 👏👏

Thank you to these lovely ladies for being great guests this evening on our whistle stop pub tour digging into some literary culture and history through the West End. Sherlock Holmes, Charles Dickens, Jeffrey Bernard and George Orwell all featuring ending at the Newman Arms the inspiration for the “proles pub” in his novel 1984! 👍🇺🇸🇬🇧

Nice to meet Karen and Benoit from San Francisco this morning for our tour in Shoreditch. Here we are at Silicon Roundabout, SF is ofcourse famous for Silicon Valley, as depicted in the Roger Moore 👌 classic Bond movie View To A Kill. A tenuous link but it’s always good to mention Roger Moore. 👍🇬🇧🇺🇸

Frankfurt. City of Christmas Markets, Boney M and banking. Exploring over the weekend I engaged in a sausage quest at the Christmas Markets there. 🌭This is my report 👇
Bratwurst
Pork based. Highly celebrated by my father in the 80s. A little too gelatinous though in texture.
Paprikawurst
A spicy sausage servant with excellent texture. Best taken from swinging grills over the fire. Excellent banger. My number 2 on the list. Highly recommended.
Rindwurst
A beefy bad boy. Though a little lacking in the same winning texture and taste as spiced super würst above.
Wildebratwurst
The Rolls Royce of sausage specialists. Made of game meats (I tasted wild boar and venison) the texture is superior and the flavours rich without being tart. This sausage superstar ist Der Kaiser Auf Würsts. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pictured in this post and available from the establishment receiving thumbs up 👍.
Currywurst not included. Tried this in Berlin earlier this year and was underwhelmed. Not enough curry. I would rather a plain Bratwurst. This is not to talk you out of trying one, for this sausage seeker I could think of nothing würst!
If you have food that you want me to rate, whether sausage based or not, then I am ready and willing. 👌🏻

Up bright and early this morning for a breakfast tour with Alex and his lovely family from Italy via California. Splendid. Temperature has dropped and walking down to meet them at the station today the colours were a spectacle. The view from Alexandra Palace was quite epic and bathed in the kind of brilliant sunshine you only ever find in the winter.

The last of my three days with these great folks from Southern California. Today, the F1 Exhibition and Churchill’s War Rooms. So long, farewell and thank you for being great guests Kristin, Manny, Mason and Brody! 👍🇺🇸🇬🇧

I brought my guests to for sausage rolls earlier this week. They were a hit, naturally. 👍 So to serve a special request and impassioned plea, I’ve picked up a new batch with some Crouch End pasties this morning to take to Battersea before we start our day of F1 and Churchill themed experiences. Burgeoning sausage roll connoisseur Brody rates them above those from the Clarkson’s Farm out let The Farmer’s Puppy. 👍

I took my fab guests today to as part of our road trip to Stonehenge and Oxford. It’s clearly going to be a massive success. If you’ve followed Top Gear, the Grand Tour or Clarkson’s Farm then it’s somewhere you’ve got to go. He’s created a lot of jobs and the meat in my burger was outrageously good. Haven’t had that in a pub before to be frank. Next year is going to be doing a bunch of stuff with sports cars, classics and road trips with new offerings and bespoke experiences for you to come. We’ll be coming back for sure. 👍

Today, terrific fun with Kristin, Brody, Manny and Mason from Southern California. Stonehenge, lunch at the Too Gear legend turned farmer Jeremy Clarkson’s The Farmer’s Dog and then Oxford. Mason is an elite rower. Hope that this taste of this great city might see him on the water here some day. 👍

Bespoke tours included the city by night which was a splendid brief. Ed is a member of , as guests these folks were definitely champions and not least apparently for tearing up the ABBA arena while here! Great folks.

I think this is what they call ironic juxtaposition. Thank you Barry T. Beemer for an awesome few days. If you don’t love cars you won’t understand. My goal for 2025 is to get paid for driving a sports car. cannonballrun

Went for a drive along the coast and found a windmill. Which brings to mind The Windmills Of Your Mind and the Acker Bilk rendition, my dad and Acker had a memorable night at the bar once. He, my father, proclaimed once in delighted recollection how they got proper squiffy. Such things are part of the joy of life.
