An article detailing the inability to work with associations in Wales, misleading my MP and deletion of institutions, guides and guided walk leaders from the Visit Wales website and only understood due to my FOI request.

Remember, Visit Wales has NO countryside guides or guided walk leaders on its platform. Hundreds of businesses across Wales are effectively banned from Visit Wales promotion and these are exactly the kinds of businesses that add value to tourist stays in Wales and therefore essential for organic referrals and repeat business.

What a shameful state of affairs...

We got a soaking going behind this one, but that is par for the course following a day or two of heavy rain...

The hound was playing all hurty yesterday. She loves this stretch of dry grass but it is pitted and she kinda fell into a small hole. However, all is well as she only wanted a cuddle and then it was good to go time :)

There was one that struggle a little though... But... her friends got here through it :)

Mali made it over the Wibbly Wobbly bridge without displaying any fear...

It was another fine walk with Andy Wales Outdoors and this time not too far from home, Penarth start, adjacent to Andy's Yacht! Grand sounding but really it's an old tub :) The walk for the first half was surprisingly challenging with rocks and mud and danger but we got through it and some rewarded themselves with cake at the Pink Floyd Cafe at Swanbridge. Back via farmland and Cosmeston and a sustrans route, an old railway line turned into a cycling track. Join us next time :) https://walesoutdoors.co.uk

Our Story

In 1995 Andy Lamb opened the first mountain bike hire business in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Since then Andy’s business, Wales Outdoors, has grown and morphed and now Wales Outdoors is the most active and most popular guided walks and adventure travel provider in Wales. Andy has been a volunteer co-ordinator, guided walks programme organiser and part time central area warden for the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority, chair of Brecon Beacons Tourism, a Duke of Edinburghs area co-ordinator, a Princes Trust social inclusion manager, the catalyst for the Brecon Beacons National Park Environment Charter and a key motivator for the inception of the outdoor activity peer group, SWOAPG.
