Wales Outdoors subscribes to a variety of Welsh Government, local authority, mountain and tourism related content, so, we thought we’d write an information sharing and commentary post every now and again, when the news is newsworthy or where it piques our interest.

This is what Andy has been arguing for, for the whole of Wales, for years. Let's get rid of the useless, tax burden that no one wants, sheep, and instead have a rich and diverse eco system naturally regenerate across the 78% of Wales that is set aside for grazing animals.

Game would be plentiful and who would say no to wild boar or venison as opposed to farm reared animals stuffed full of antibiotics and steroids?

Our communications with Mountain Training regarding the perceived lack of interest by them in standing up for their members with regards to the two tier onboarding policies of Visit Wales.

UPDATE: I wrote this prior to my victory following my five year campaign to have Visit Wales operate a level playing field.

The second job last week was a Cardiff City walking tour that is in the main orientation but the stories and anecdotes are of the darker shade... After dealing with a drunk at the start point who had been following and targeting a single female traveller, with me having to confront him and send him on his way, we cracked on and visited multiple city centre delights with tales told that hopefully led to restless nights and disturbing dreams ;)

Two jobs last Friday. The first was a private booking for a VIP. The weather played ball and the two women were delightful company. One was a travel agent who was very well-travelled indeed and my job was to show off Wales to its very best potential with the aim of having her add Wales to her portfolio and so begin to send high value visitors to Wales. I think this was successful with Caerphilly Castle, St Fagans, Cowbridge and Southerndown selling the best of the south :)

I have seen some pretty enormous sheep up in Gwynedd over the years, but this is ridiculous! South Wales has to win at everything 😤

Our Story

We are an innovative, multiple award winning, as seen on TV adventure travel provider that works with small groups in the great outdoors. Here's some background to our assertion that your adventure is our business!

In 1995 Andy Lamb opened the first mountain bike hire business in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Since then Andy’s business, Wales Outdoors, has grown and morphed and now Wales Outdoors is the most active and most popular guided walks and adventure travel provider in Wales. Andy has been a volunteer co-ordinator, guided walks programme organiser and part time central area warden for the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority, chair of Brecon Beacons Tourism, a Duke of Edinburghs area co-ordinator, a Princes Trust social inclusion manager, the catalyst for the Brecon Beacons National Park Environment Charter and a key motivator for the inception of the outdoor activity peer group, SWOAPG.

We operate a safe, friendly and client orientated business that is actively pursuing innovative approaches to fun and educational provision. Join us for day walks and weekends away in Wales as well as challenge events and overseas walking tours and holidays in places such as Iceland and Tenerife...
