Took a little trip to the border and Hadrians wall. Walked into this little beauty spot known as Sycamore gap but can anyone remember what film it featured in?

An unexpected landing on probably the prettiest airstrip in Britain. I was lucky to see this while visiting the beautiful island of Barra.

I had to follow up my previous post of Arisaig with a view of the sunset as it was too nice not to share.

30/07/2021

This is Arisaig on the road to the Isles and it is one of my favourite places in Scotland to chill out. I was lucky enough to spend my weekend here and this was the view that greeted me in the morning.

Sometimes we forget just how beautiful our country can be.

Went for a walk in South Ayrshire at Girvan. We were treated to some amazing weather and great views of Alisa Craig before heading off to the woodlands where one of the locals looked pleased to see us 😁.

This great little view is from the Glencoe Lochan which simply means small loch. It lies in the woods behind Glencoe village and has 3 different grades of trails for you to explore. The easiest route will take you around the lochan via a flat path and is around 30 min long.

If you are travelling in the area then try and take some time out to visit this little gem and enjoy some peace and quiet with great views.

This is the Brig o’ Doon and Alloway Auld Kirk made famous by our national bard Rabbie Burns in his poem Tam o’ Shanter.

They lie in the beautiful area of Ayrshire where he grew up as a boy and are a great place to visit on a day out. The official visitor centre with its gardens lies close to them where you can sit and chill for some quiet time.

If you are ever in the area then why not go and have a peek through the kirks old window where Tam spied the devil himself and then make your escape to safety across the brig just like Tam did on his horse Maggie.

If you are in the Perthshire area of Scotland then why not take time to visit the Hermitage of Dunkeld for a great woodland walk along the river Braan.

The area was created by the duke of Atholl in the 1700’s and it will not disappoint. You will be rewarded with some fantastic views of roaring waterfalls, old stone bridges and ancient Douglas firs that are said to be some of the tallest in Britain. You can then visit Ossian’s cave and have a seat inside to rest your legs before the walk back.

All Outlander fans will instantly recognise this picture of Lallybroch the ancestral home of Jamie Fraser.

This is one of my favourite places to visit when on tour and I love seeing the looks of joy on clients faces when it first comes into view 😀😀

The real name of this building is Midhope and it was first built in the middle 1400’s by a John Martyne.

Today is the 275th anniversary of the battle of Culloden.

It was on this day in 1746 that the last civil battle on British soil took place between the Jacobite army led by bonnie prince Charlie and the government army led by the duke of Cumberland.

The battle lasted approximately 1hr and was a heavy defeat for the Jacobites, sadly this led to the destruction of a culture and way of life in the highlands of Scotland forever.
