Sea Urchins Cottage and Skylark Beach House are situated on The Bay Filey, an award- winning holiday village on the North Yorkshire coast. Guests have free use of the pool, sauna, steam room and gym on site. Sea Urchins Cottage (built 2016) accommodates 5 people (max 4 adults) in 2 bedrooms, both ensuite, with a balcony from the master with sea view. Bedroom 1 has a king-size bed, bedroom 2 can be
set up as twin beds or a kingsize. There is a camp bed for the 5th guest (child) if needed. Skylark Beach House (built 2012) again accommodates 5 people, in 2 bedrooms, both with ensuites. Kingsize bedroom 1 with ensuite wet room. Kingsize bedroom 2 (can also be 2 small singles) with ensuite bathroom. Additional 4ft (small double) guest bed for 5th person if required. Both houses have a high chair and cot available. The Bay offers excellent amenities - including large swimming pool, sauna/steam room, gym, all 2 minutes walk away. You are only 10 mins walk from the coast, an excellent clean, sandy beach stretching for miles. On site there is also a pub, cafe and shop/pharmacy. There are also activities at a small cost. The Bay also has a wildflower meadow, football pitch and boules courts and is a lovely relaxing place to stay.
It’s taken 6 days and still not quite finished but we have the most wonderful new deck at Skylark 🙂 just need some ropes and the sides finishing off.
Previously just 2 small decks, one off each bedroom. Now one large extended deck and steps down onto the lawn.
Very happy with the new dining table, benches and chairs at Skylark. It's taken a long time choosing something we both liked :-)

Phew 8 hour round trip to make some new garden furniture. There will be another lounger soon but one was delivered with the leg part missing! And there is a second chair now too that’s missing from the photos - nearly had to admit defeat but then bumped into my handyman who had a power drill and sorted it!

It's a farewell but not a goodbye to Sea Urchins Cottage which we sold on Friday.
I will still be managing bookings for the new owners via my business Filey Bay Direct, so all existing bookings continue as planned and I am still the person to contact for new bookings.
I will be setting up a separate page for Sea Urchins Cottage shortly which I will link to below when I do - the new owners may wish to choose a new name so I'll wait and see before I do so :-)

The EV charger is now installed at Skylark beach house. Guests are welcome to use it but to stop the whole street connecting to it, guests just need to let us know if they’d like to, so we can allow access.
Hopefully in a couple of weeks we will have an EV charger installed and ready for our guests to use at Skylark beach house.
Watch this space - the install is booked for 29 July so hope it all goes to plan!
If any of our regulars are thinking of buying at The Bay, just to let you know that Sea Urchins Cottage will be going on the open market shortly - any private buyers are welcome to contact us direct too.

A week ago, I got dressed up and went to a local dinner and fundraising auction with my friend Carol, as I'd donated some short stays at Skylark beach house to the auction.
The event was a great success raising nearly £20,000 to support the charity's work to help young people reach their true potential. And our prizes at Skylark raised over £1,000 towards this total, which was absolutely brilliant, as this will go a long way to support young people with mental health difficulties.
We've had a lovely few days in Filey. Time on the beach, time with family and friends, and as always, time on DIY and deep-cleaning.
No early morning wake-ups now we have curtains as well as blinds.
