International Women in Engineering Day
To mark International Women in Engineering Day, we caught up with Managing Director, Rachel Garrett, and a few members of her team who are helping to inspire women around the world to enter the sector.
Rachel said: “Everyone in the industry works for the same goal – crafting new creations or finding solutions to problems through the power of technology. It’s a collaborative workforce of people who all want to see each other achieve.
“I would love to see more women join it, especially young people.”

With the right filament printer, metal filament and printing profile, series production of high-quality metal parts can be printed cost-effectively.
As a follow-up on the single printing of the copper heat sink, Fuselab printed six small copper heat sinks all at once for use in small electronic devices.
The series production of the heat sinks was carried out with CMG Tech-X Copper HMs filament using a 0.3 mm nozzle, printing temperature of 130 °C and z-layer height of 0.1 mm and printing duration of 6 hours. Of course, 0.3 mm nozzle can lead to long print duration and a 0.4-0.6 mm nozzle could suffice to achieve a balance between shorter printing duration and quality.
