The Golf Care Matchplay Championship is now established as one of Europe’s largest amateur golf tournaments and the 2013/2014 event has just got even better, promising to be the biggest and best event to date; not surprising when you consider the fabulous Grand Final prize. 40 amateur golfers will experience a week’s hospitality at the brand new luxurious 5-star JW Marriott Marquis Dubai Hotel, th
e tallest dedicated hotel in world. With the competition being played down the fairways of the world famous ‘Els Club’, closely followed by the Sky Sports cameras.
We’re currently in the process of contract negotiations with our key partners and we hope to be announcing some exciting news.
It’s likely that the event schedule will be slightly different to recent years. So the entry period, qualifying rounds, Regional Finals and the Grand Final will likely be at different times.

A great day at Mottram Hall on Tuesday and we’re back again today for the South Regional Final. Whilst the weather isn’t quite as good as the North Regional on Tuesday it’s sure to be another exciting, competitive day of golf.
As you’ll have seen the results from Tuesday’s event have been posted on www.matchplaychampionship.co.uk and we are in the process of carrying out checks, which is our standard procedure, in order to verify the handicaps of all the winners. Naturally, the same checking process will also be carried out following today’s event.
The Golf Care Matchplay Championship is the biggest prize in amateur golf, taking place at a top quality Dubai resort under the eye of the Sky Sports cameras.

Having read a few of the comments we’d just like to clarify the allocation of the 40 places for Dubai.
The 2015 Grand Finals will include:
Men’s singles = 8 players (8 teams)
Men’s pairs = 20 players (10 teams)
Mixed pairs = 8 players (4 teams)
Plate event prize winners:
Men’s singles = 2 players (2 teams) – 1st and 2nd place
Men’s pairs = 2 players (1 team) – Winning pair

Just to let you all you finalists know, as we have been receiving a few enquiries. Here are the approximate numbers for the regional finals at Mottram Hall and the grand finals in Dubai:
For the regional finals at Mottram Hall on the 14th & 16th April, there will be approximately the following numbers playing:
Men’s Pairs: 50
Men’s Singles: 37
Mixed Pairs: 9
We don’t know the exact split yet into north and south regionals, but it will be roughly evenly split.
And qualifying for Dubai, the figures are approximately:
Men’s Pairs: 10
Men’s Singles: 12
Mixed Pairs: 4
You should all know now whether you have made it to the Regional Finals at Mottram Hall on the 14th & 16th April!
This now means you are only one great round away from the Grand Finals and a phenomenal week away in Dubai.
