𝟱-𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗢𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗶 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗵𝗶, 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝘆𝘂𝗻'𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝗺𝗯 & 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗮𝘄 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗵𝗲𝗺! 𝗠𝘆 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 🛺 🇮🇳

What an incredible journey it’s been! My final stop was the luxurious Oberoi Delhi, crowned Asia’s number one city hotel. This oasis offered a serene retreat from Delhi’s hustle and bustle, with world-class hospitality and comfort.

Yesterday, I saw Humayun’s Tomb, a magnificent example of Mughal architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The intricate designs and historical significance left me in awe.

But the highlight? A crazy rickshaw ride through the narrow, bustling streets of Old Delhi! It was brilliantly chaotic, with an attack on the senses that truly immersed us in the vibrant local culture. Our brave driver navigated through a maze of shops, people, and markets, merging with cars and motorbikes on the main roads – it was a thrilling experience not for the faint-hearted! Think of it as the ultimate adrenaline rush, Delhi-style.

Our final evening was spent enjoying drinks and dining on the rooftop terrace of the Oberoi Delhi, sharing laughs and creating lifelong memories with new friends.

This journey has been filled with once-in-a-lifetime experiences: from a 3-night all-suite luxury river cruise on the Ganges with Uniworld, staying in the finest Oberoi hotels, visiting the Taj Mahal, seeing Calcutta Rescue and Mother Teresa's former home and resting place. I’ve also experienced jeep rides to the Amber Fort, snake charmers, monkeys, market street bartering, and even had lunch at a royal palace, plus many other incredible highlights.

This trip has been a blend of ultra-luxury and authentic experiences, from the finest Indian cuisine to privileged access to unique sites. It’s been inspirational, humbling, and life-changing. Wow, where do I start? This really is the trip that keeps on giving!

I just had the most amazing day visiting the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World! My arrival at the 5-star Oberoi Amarvilas was incredible. Welcomed with floral garlands and greeted with authentic hospitality, this hotel is stunningly beautiful. The views of the Taj Mahal and the beautifully kept grounds are simply amazing.

After settling into my luxurious suite, we were whisked away directly from the hotel on electric buggies to the entrance of the Taj for a sunset visit. Watching the sun set over the Taj Mahal was a breathtaking experience—the sheer size and grandeur of the Taj cannot be captured in photos. Its intricate details and perfect symmetry make it seem almost surreal.

After a superb night indulging in local cuisine at the Oberoi, I woke early for a magical sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal. The first light of day cast a golden glow over the white marble, enhancing its beauty even more. Standing there as the sun rose, I was awestruck by the incredible craftsmanship and rich history behind this iconic structure.

Honestly, it’s hard to put into words how I felt standing there. I was just overcome with emotion, feeling the deep history and the love story behind this incredible building. It’s so much more than just a beautiful monument—it’s a testament to enduring love and extraordinary craftsmanship.

Adding to the magic, I’m staying at The Oberoi Amarvilas, an absolutely stunning hotel just 600 metres away from the Taj Mahal. This luxury hotel in Agra offers unrestricted views of the Taj Mahal from all rooms and suites. Waking up to the sight of this magnificent structure right from my window was a moment I’ll cherish forever.

𝗝𝗮𝗶𝗽𝘂𝗿 - 𝗥𝗮𝗷𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻’𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟱-𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗢𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗶 𝗥𝗮𝗷𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗮𝘀! 𝗠𝘆 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 🌺

After an amazing 3 nights on the Ganges river cruise, I’ve arrived in Jaipur, and it’s been nothing short of spectacular.

Following a quick 1.5-hour flight from Kolkata, I checked into the 5-star Oberoi Rajvilas, one of India’s finest hotels, and OH MY ... this place is something special. With individual blocks of accommodation, luxury tents, a lovely pool, beautiful gardens, and around 150 peacocks roaming freely, it's pure magic! And the food is out of this world!

Did you know? Pink is the colour of hospitality in Rajasthan, perfectly capturing the essence of Jaipur, famously known as the "Pink City." 🌸

**Exploring Jaipur**

During my stay in Jaipur, I've had the chance to experience some incredible excursions:

🕌 Amber Palace: Wandering through this majestic fort-palace felt like stepping back in time. The views and architecture were absolutely mesmerising.

🌠 Jantar Mantar: This UNESCO World Heritage Site amazed me with its ancient astronomical instruments used to study the skies.

🍽️ Highlight: I enjoyed a delicious lunch at the palace. The elegant surroundings and exquisite cuisine made it truly memorable.

And here's a funny moment - on my way to the palace, I saw a snake charmer! I must admit, I nearly jumped out of my skin, and there was no way I was petting the cobra, but hey, it's all part of the adventure, right? 🐍🤣

Earlier this evening, I visited Jaipur’s vibrant bazaars, bursting with colour and culture. Even if you’re not shopping, the lively atmosphere is a feast for the senses!

𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗲: 𝗠𝘆 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆

I’ve just spent a few fabulous nights cruising the Ganges River aboard the luxurious riverboat, Ganges Voyager II, and I can't wait to share this incredible adventure with you!

Imagine gliding along India’s most sacred river, the Ganges, flowing through a vibrant tapestry of small villages and bustling cities. This cruise unveils the heart of India, revealing places that few tourists ever get to see.

The breathtaking scenery and serene views as we sailed down the river were simply magical. I visited villages where the locals' curiosity about visitors is as profound as ours about their way of life. In Kalna, I enjoyed an unforgettable ride on an electric rickshaw and explored the serene Rajbari Temple Complex. There is so much history and culture here, it’s hard to explain how special it feels being so close to these sacred places.

After lunch, I headed out to the French Colony of Chandannagar. This town is beautiful, and it was the first time I’ve seen monkeys, cows, and people roaming the same streets. Strolling along the Strand, a broad, tree-lined riverfront promenade, I admired the elegant French buildings. Our visit included a stop at the 19th-century Church of the Sacred Heart.

Back on board, we were treated to a cooking demonstration by the very talented chef, followed by more cocktails and a cultural dance group as the entertainment. The Ganges Voyager II also offers a new Wellness Program centred around yoga, rooted in the destination’s ancient traditions. The tranquility of sunset yoga on the Sundeck was the perfect way to unwind and connect with the surroundings.

In Kolkata, our city tour began with the vibrant Flower Market, a feast for the eyes. We then explored Kumartuli, a traditional potters' quarter known for its exquisite clay idols. Visiting the flower markets of Kolkata was a magical experience, with an array of flowers I’ve never seen before. This was followed by a visit to a school for underprivileged children, who were so cute and welcoming.

A true highlight was visiting Mother Teresa’s Home and Tomb. She arrived in India in 1929, and two decades later founded the Missionaries of Charity. Visiting the Mother House, where she lived and worked, was profoundly moving. I saw her simply furnished room, a tiny museum with her Nobel Peace Prize medal, and informative newspaper clippings and photos. Her tomb is a modest and serene spot, a testament to one of the most influential women ever to live in the city.

Experiencing India is a culture shock in the best possible way. Every sense is alive here. The noise is a constant symphony of horns, and the air is filled with the rich aromas of food and flowers. This Ganges River cruise is a perfect blend of relaxation, cultural immersion, and historical exploration. Each moment leaves a lasting impression.

Tomorrow, I will be disembarking this beautiful riverboat and flying from Kolkata to Jaipur. There, I will start the Golden Triangle tour, exploring the wondrous sights of Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra. Although I refer to this as "day one," I've actually been here for just 9 hours.

My Emirates flight from Manchester to Dubai was seamless. After a brief layover in Dubai, I continued with Emirates to Kolkata, where I was met by my driver.

I have checked into my beautiful cabin aboard the Ganges Voyager 2, where I will be staying for the next three nights. The hospitality here is exceptional, with an abundance of gorgeous food and drinks.

Today has been a day of relaxation, preparing to explore a local market tomorrow morning.

It's time for a very exciting work trip. I'm a tad excited (as a few of you will already know if you have spoken to me this week) 😂
