Last month I took 6 amazing women for an adventure of a lifetime on safari in Kenya.

With 3 days in the Maasai Mara, 3 days walking in the Loita Hills and 2 days at the beautiful Shompole Wilderness it was a unique itinerary with areas most tourists never get to explore.

Getting out on foot with the Maasai leading the way brings a connection to nature and the country that you just don't find in the back of a safari jeep.

And of course the Maasai Mara is a wildlife haven, one of the most incredible places to experience the amazing wildlife Kenya has to offer.

We have another departure date 21st - 29th June 2025 if you want to experience it for yourself!

The best cold weather destinations to visit in 2025

If you’re over beaches and battling the crowds, there’s never been a better time to add a cold weather holiday to your wish list. From Nepal and the US Rockies to Switzerland and Alaska, embracing the snow and ice has never been more popular, so take a look at these magnificent destinations that come alive when the temperature drops.

1st picture -
Switzerland - November-April

This is another outdoor playground and one with some of Europe’s best skiing. Among the best spots are the resorts of the Bernese Oberland, including Interlaken between the lakes of Thun and Brienz – a brilliant base for exploring snowcapped mountains, lakes, and waterfalls, with a vast array of winter sports – and Grindelwald.

Alternatively, the Valais region in the south-west is home to the ski resorts Saas-Fee and Zermatt, as well as the craggy Matterhorn with its excellent snowboarding. Another spot is the Graubünden region in the south-east, with the luxury resort of St. Moritz and Weisse Arena, which brings together Flims, Laax, and Falera.

2nd Picture
Nepal - January-February

This time of year can be very cold in this tiny mountain kingdom, but you’ll be rewarded by bright, clear skies, glorious views, and quieter trekking trails (although it’s best to avoid high altitude treks). And you can cosy up in lodges or hotels with open fires, blankets, and hot water bottles These drier months are also great for wildlife spotting, especially in the well-protected national parks of Chitwan and Bardia with their rhinos, elephants, monkeys, and birdlife.

3rd Picture - My fav
US Rockies - November-April

This magnificent mountain chain stretches 4800km from British Columbia in Canada to New Mexico – more than twice the distance as from Helsinki to Rome. You won’t have time to visit all the Rockies in the USA alone, which are in north-central Colorado state; it’s best to focus on the Rocky Mountain National Park itself, and on Estes Park in the Front Range, which is the gateway to the Rockies.

The national park is one vast outdoor playground, with 60 mountains of more than 3500m in altitude, shimmering glacier lakes, more than 500km of trails, and spectacular wildlife viewing. In winter it’s a true wonderland, with cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, and snowboarding.

4th Picture
Alaska - May-October

Expedition cruising is the best way to discover this north-west US state, with its estimated 100,000 glaciers. You’ll get to see many of them, perhaps including the iconic Hubbard Glacier, together with other natural wonders, including breathtaking fjords and fascinating wildlife such as humpback whales, dolphins, and sea otters.

Depending on who you cruise with, you might go crabbing in the Bering Sea, helicopter flightseeing, and glacier trekking. Other attractions during this time of year include visiting the lively historic gold-mining towns Juneau and Skagway and the Native American fishing village of Ketchikan. And the wild landscapes of the Katmai National Park and Preserve are packed with salmon and brown bears.

Hello my name is Kim I am a Travel Counsellor based in Jersey, Channel Islands.

I have been a Travel Counsellor for 3 years after 10 years of working in the safari industry in Africa culminating in managing Sir Richard Branson's fabulous tented camp.

I grew up in a keen travelling family and had the good fortune of being able to experience travel, culture, food and adventure from a young age. Although Africa is my speciality, I have been lucky enough to travel extensively and have experienced some incredible adventures, from camping in the breath-taking Yellowstone National Park to cycling through Canada, from skiing in France, Switzerland and Canada to Maasai tribesmen dancing and singing round the campfire as the sunsets in Kenya.

Travel is not just my job, its my passion and one of my greatest joys in life. My aim is to make sure that your next holiday is truly unique, a bespoke experience based on your vision. As a Travel Counsellor I can offer you a personalised service, I will be your very own travel PA ensuring every single detail is covered. Whether your style is an adventure packed holiday, or an all-inclusive seaside resort. I want to ensure that your next holiday is the experience of a lifetime whether it’s a last-minute luxury break or a destination you have been dreaming of for years. I'm here for you.
