We recently held a quiz in Portadown Golf Club to support the excellent work of the Southern Area Hospice. The hospice was chosen as a charity by club members Patrick, Andrew and Owen Renshaw in memory of their parents Carmel and Annesley, as it was close to their hearts. The club would like to thank those who attended the quiz and contributed to a superb donation of £765 to the Southern Area Hospice.

Last Friday night saw the Club host its Annual Dinner at Portadown Golf Club with special guest Jimmy Quinn and host Joel Taggart. The 100 people in attendance enjoyed listening to stories from Jimmy's career and hearing of his pride in playing for Northern Ireland.

As always on the night we like to raise money for a local charity. The auction and raffle raised £1,255 for Edenderry House Memory Clinic - Life Story Dementia Programme and Day Care Dementia Services.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Saltmarine for supplying a car to Jimmy and his wife Donna so they could visit family and friends over the duration of their stay.

Delighted to present two charity cheques this evening before leaving for the match. £1,500 to Brainwaves NI in memory of our esteemed member Gary Connolly. It was great having Gary's family with us for the presentation. Our 2nd presentation was for £1,115 to Pretty n Pink, Breast Cancer Charity which was raised at our recent quiz night.

As we move towards the World Cup Final, we are delighted to confirm that arrangements are in place for the Clubs Annual Dinner which will take place on Friday 27th January 2023 in Portadown Golf Club.

Our special guest, was a Northern Ireland international from 1971, he won 64 caps for Northern Ireland, scoring 8 goals, and won 2 British Home Championships (79-80 & 83-84).

He won an Irish Cup in 1971, an English First Division in 1977-78 and 2 European Cups in 1978-79 and 1979-80.

Our special guest will be our World Cup Captain from 1982, Martin O'Neill.

Returning as host will be the excellent Joel Taggart, a great friend of the club. Joel will lead the evening with his well honed skills, alongside some tales and with an expert knowledge of Northern Ireland football.

It is with great sadness that today we say goodbye to John Brown, one of our founding members. John is well know in football circles having held various administrative roles at clubs, associations and the Irish FA. His relationships ensured the voice of Portadown NISC was always heard. A great member of our club who loved the craic, and passing on his enthusiasm for Northern Ireland to like minded people and the younger generation. As a club we extend our deepest sympathies to Janet, Gary and the entire family circle.

It is with great sadness that we have to share the news of the passing of our long standing member Gary Connolly. He has been a lifelong member of the GAWA and travelled far and near to support Our Wee Country, enjoying the craic whether it was a win, loss or draw. He truly loved being a member of our wee club and the various social gatherings, but his favourite was the Christmas Dinner with people doing a wee turn and enjoying each others story telling. He treasured the opportunity to share his love of the GAWA and membership of PNISC with his nephew Andrew. Our thoughts at this time go out to Raymond, Stella, Michael, Dawn, Judith, Andrew, Aušra and his circle of family and friends. 🍏🍎
