Inclusive Dance with Vibe Fitness
We love this video sent to us by Team Leader, Kim. It catches an incredible moment for Daren, who is teaching a dance routine to his dance class peers for the first time.
‘I enjoyed leading the group with a new dance. Dance is my favourite.’ Daren.
❤️🕺
‘Daren’s enthusiasm and energy in class is something that inspires myself, his friends and support team.
When Daren first came to VibeFitness, although he joined in with all of our group routines, he was quite reserved. So it’s lovely to see his confidence in performing improve to the point where he now takes up opportunity’s to dance in shows and create and teach routines in classes.
Daren you’re a pleasure to dance with every week and literally brighten up our dance experience. Never change, always push yourself to grow, and keep inspiring us all.’ Vicki, Vibe Fitness.
A huge well done to Daren, for this incredible achievement and to everyone involved in supporting him to achieve his goals!
👏👏👏

Well done to all the teams that took part in the LD Super League #RugbyWorldCup on Sunday!
‘I liked scoring tries. It’s great to work as a team. That’s how rugby works. I played pass with J, from Barrow Raiders.’ -Liam.
‘It was a great atmosphere, I loved the interaction between all the clubs. There was lots of hand shaking. The people we support enjoyed mixing with the other teams.’ - Becky, Support Worker.
Well done everyone involved 👏👏👏

💙🤍Happy Birthday James🧡🖤
‘James is a kind and friendly person, who enjoys spending time with his friends.
This year, James wanted to celebrate his birthday with his family and all of his friends, including those from Millennium and the Featherstone Rovers rugby team (James is a huge fan and plays for their LDRL team, too).
He was excited to have a party as lockdown has been hard and he has not seen a lot of his friends during this time. He wanted everyone to get together to celebrate the end of lockdown and his birthday.
He did an amazing job of this, as the night was filled with fun, friendships and the people we support and the people we employ coming together to have a dance and sing-along to celebrate.
The night had an amazing turn out and everyone who attended said they had had the best night.
James was especially excited as his sister came to the party and he hasn’t seen her since pre-lockdown due to continued restrictions.
James had disposable cameras at the party for all his friends to take pictures, which he’s now had printed and shows everyone when they come to visit him at home!
He was over the moon that all his friends attended his big celebration – he’s already planning his next birthday!’ - Paige, Team Leader.
‘I had a party. My friends came and I sang karaoke. Craig was there and Paige. Everyone came.’ -James.
Well done James 👏👏👏

We are proud to introduce our Millennium Gardens volunteer group!
Led by our Community Enterprise, the group are working on the allotment grounds of our partner charity The Prince of Wales Hospice!
They will use their combined gardening expertise and experience to grow fresh fruit and vegetables, which will be used by hospice chefs to create nutritious and healthy meals for inpatients.
The group will also tend to the plants and flowers, creating a beautiful getaway for people looking for tranquility and peace 🌹🌺
We're super proud of our Millies for using their skills, experience and knowledge to give back and we can't wait to see the difference they make!

As it’s Learning Disability Week and the theme is art and creativity, Stuart wants to share with you how he gets creative with Makaton!
Stuart slightly adapts the Makaton symbols that he uses so that they are practical and understandable for him. Though they might look slightly different to the originals, our Millies work in a person-centred way, so Stuart’s support team know what these adaptations mean and use them with him to communicate. ❤️
Today, Stuart would like to share with you his version of ‘model’ and ‘create’.
Well done Stuart! 👏🎬❤️
Ps you might notice that Stuart’s hands move slightly out of shot, so if you want to see the full and official version of this sign, check out this video from Lucinda and Nikki: https://youtu.be/_1U_iX90Xqs
