As families up and down the country indulge in too much chocolate, enjoy Easter egg hunts in the garden and rolling their painted masterpieces down the nearest hills, we thought we’d take a look at some Easter traditions from around the world…

🔹 On the beautiful island of Bermuda, they mark the start of the Easter weekend on Good Friday with a KiteFest. If you head down to the beach you’ll see the locals flying their colourful kites and enjoying the festive atmosphere. 🪁

🔹 In a small town of Bessieres in the south of France people gather every Easter Monday to share a massive... omelette. They say it's big enough to feed thousands of people and is cooked in a pan with a diameter of four metres! 🍳

🔹 On the Greek island of Corfu, old pots are thrown out of the windows on to the streets as an Easter Saturday morning tradition. It's thought the tradition was copied from the people of Venice, in Italy, who throw out their possessions. 🥣

🔹 In Poland, people throw water over each other on Easter Monday. It's known as Wet Monday and it's a tradition connected with the baptism of a Polish prince hundreds of years ago.

🔹 At the White House in Washington, DC the President holds an annual Easter egg roll on the lawn. The tradition dates back to 1878 when President Rutherford B Hayes ran the country. It's held on Easter Monday and it's usually the First Lady, who is in charge of the event. 🇺🇸
