🌨️ Just Another Day in Hospitality! 🌨️

When you’re in the hospitality business, not even a snowstorm can slow you down! ❄️☃️

Last week, we woke up to a winter wonderland, and some unexpected challenges.

With the roads too dangerous to drive, our lovely guests can’t leave just yet, so we’ve extended their stay to give the snowplows time to work their magic. 💨❄️

Meanwhile, the next set of guests were due , but given the treacherous conditions, I’ve reached out to offer them a chance to reschedule.

As much as I love what I do, cleaning in these freezing temps while fighting off a head cold isn’t ideal! 🧹💪

That’s the thing about hospitality, it’s unpredictable, challenging, and no two days are the same.

Whether it’s sunshine or snowstorms, the show must go on! It’s all about adapting, going the extra mile (or in this case, braving snowy roads), and doing what we can to make sure our guests are safe and happy.

Here’s to the joys and unpredictability of hospitality, and always keeping us on our toes!

After a busy Christmas, it was so lovely to finally have a free day to spend some quality time with my son. ❤️

We decided to explore Poole’s Cavern in Buxton, a place I’d been meaning to visit over Christmas to see the festive lighting. ✨

Although I couldn’t make it during the holidays, I was so happy to find out the magical lights were still on until this weekend. 🙌
It was absolutely stunning! ✨

We then, braved the chilly weather for a walk up to Solomon’s Temple, enjoying the fresh air and views (despite the cold and a little drizzle).

Sometimes, a walk is just what you need to reset! 🌧️🌿
And to top it off, we warmed up with a fab lunch at the Buxton Brewery Tap House and Brewery😉🍷a perfect end to a lovely afternoon.

We are very blessed to have such amazing local attractions like these.

Not only does it make for a great day out but, also gives me the chance to recommend hidden gems to you, our guests Take a Peak Holiday Cottages

If you’re staying with us, Poole’s Cavern, Solomon’s Temple, and Buxton Brewery are definitely worth adding to your itinerary!

What a year it has been, and so before all of the socials get clogged by NewYear messages, we wanted to share ours now☺️

When the storm rolls in… 🌬️❄️

Life in a small village has certainly had its challenges during this latest storm!

No phone signal, no WiFi, and power cuts that take us straight back in time. 🕯️😂

But that’s also when the magic of this community shines.💫

The local village pub The Greyhound Inn has been incredible (as always!)

They were offering roaring fires 🔥, and even candlelight to keep spirits high. 🕯️
It’s definitely moments like these that remind us what makes Hartington so special.

Omg! What a weekend! 🤪

Running holiday lets really does require wearing many different 🧢👒🎩🎓⛑️

This weekend, I’ve been donning my housekeeping hat and tackling a list of maintenance jobs that needed attention. 💪🏼

From rolling up my sleeves for some deep cleaning to sorting out repairs, it is defo NOT passive 😂

Still, it’s hard not to get distracted by the amazing views, we are very lucky to have!

I often find myself gazing out the windows or spending a moment in the garden when I should be pressing on. But it’s all part of the job, and I’m always grateful for what we have achieved as what is around us!

Oh wow! Who doesn’t dream of going to Lapland? 🎅

It’s been amazing seeing the family getting to experience such a magical trip together🥹

There’s nothing quite like watching your grandchildren enjoy the magic of Christmas.🎄

it’s brought the biggest smile to my face 😁 and even a few tears to my eyes 🥹🥰 Moments like these are too precious not to share.

And before anyone asks, Louie didn’t hurt himself at all, in fact, he jumped up laughing and wanted to go again! 😂

Meanwhile, the sight of his dad charging down the slope as fast as his legs would carry him had me absolutely howling 🤣

Every village needs a great pub, right?

Warslow has the amazing The Greyhound Inn Warslow, run by Jenni and Lee, who pour their hearts into making it a welcoming spot for everyone. 🍻🔥🥙🍔🍷

It’s more than just a place for a drink; it’s a real community hub.

With their calendar packed full of events, amazing food, and a must try brew from Wilsons of Warslow Microbrewery, there’s always something happening here.

My favorite? The Peak District Weekender in July, it’s the ultimate summer gathering!

So, if you’re visiting the Peak District, make sure to pop into the Greyhound Inn to say hi to Jenni and Lee and soak up the great vibes.
