This time last year my father was really ill, he had a horrible condition called mesothelioma (an asbestos caused cancer). The prognosis was bad, usually the sufferers survive for 3 months from diagnosis, which was what happened with my Dad. He was in his 90s so on the positive side it could have flared up at any time since his exposure to asbestos in his 40s. But it is still a very nasty condition. Luckily because I can choose when I work I could be there for those last 3 months of his life without stress or worry. For that I am truly grateful.
