Orlando Once in a Life Time Trip

I recently had the pleasure of organising an out-of-this-world adventure for a farther and daughter duo, blending their love for space exploration and the thrill of speedway! 🚀🏎️

There perfect trip included soaking up the wonders of Kennedy Space Centre, feeling the adrenaline rush at Daytona Speedway, and cherishing every moment together before she gets married in the summer. So what are your rights if volcanic activity disrupts your travel plans?

Flight disruptions caused by ash from Mount Etna are outside of the control of airlines so it is unlikely that passengers would be entitled to compensation for any delays and cancellations arising from these.

This is testament to why using a Travel Counsellor is such a good choice when booking your holidays and travel. The protection we offer and the level of service we provide is like no other.

If you’ve ever wondered about booking with me and were not sure what it’s all about have a read of what I got up to yesterday.

Some of my clients are travelling around Italy for their honeymoon. After a week of driving around Sicily they were due to fly to Venice to spend their last three nights.

Yesterday the most active volcano 🌋 in Europe, Mt Etna blew and covered the area, and airport, in a huge ash cloud. All flights were cancelled and given my experience of ash clouds over the years I wanted to get them off the island as quickly as possible.

With some creative thinking I got them a on a couple of trains to the other side of Sicily to Palermo, I booked a hotel, transfer and new flight to Venice for this morning, amended their Venice transfer and hotel and had done this by the time most other effected passengers were still at Catania Airport.

I couldn’t sleep because I was worried that the ash cloud would spread so I’ve been in contact with my clients since 4am to make sure the transfer picked them up, we had a small problem with Ryan Air on the new flight but we will sort that and a paperwork issue with the amended transfer in Venice which was quickly resolved.

The clients are now at their hotel and everything has been sorted and they’re not out of pocket. This is a rarity when natural disasters like this happen. It helps when your clients are understanding but if you’ve wondered why book with me ask yourself a couple of things.

If you’d booked this on the High Street or online would you get the same support?

If you booked this by yourself would you get the same protection? (That’s a very leading question because the answer is no!)

Sometimes I’m “more expensive” sometimes I’m the same and sometimes I might be “cheaper”

But if you asked my clients that are currently enjoying their amazing hotel in Venice what they think of me, cheap will probably be the last word they’d use.

ITS NOT TOO LATE....
7 destinations that are just perfect to visit in the month of May​​​​​​​​​ 💫

1 - Costa Rica. The end of dry season, beginning of wet season. If you are lucky you might get to experience the "first rains" when everyone runs out into the streets/jungle/beach to celebrate.

2 - Malta and Gozo, a most underrated European destination, with amazing snorkelling and scuba diving, epic villas and some really cool boutique hotels opening all the time. It is shedding its reputation as a place for the older generations.

3 - Santorini, Cyclades Islands. A visit in May means way less crowds and more sunset photo opportunities!

4 - Bahamas are perfect in May due to the average daytime temparture of 29 degrees, and low rainfall.

5 - Mexico, in particular the Riviera Maya and its islands. We recommend a beach stay in Tulum with some Cenote swimming, cave jumping and ziplining.

6 - Rome, or pretty much any European city is perfect in May before it's scorching hot! Visit the landmarks, sit out in cafes, enjoy the late sunsets.

7 - Algarve Portugal. So many beach choices, excellent golf courses, a warm temperature and long sunny days throughout the month of May.

Hello! I’ve had a few new followers recently so I thought I would just let you all know about me and what I do 👋🏽

I have my own business with Travel Counsellors where I help my clients by providing a bespoke personal service ensuring that their holiday booking and travel experience is smooth and hassle free.

I have been fortunate enough to travel to many parts of the world, with my first solo trip being to the USA. I spent a year working in, and exploring both the East and West Coast, where I would quickly learn how adrenaline-filled, empowering, and liberating the feeling of travel can be.

Though the USA was the place that birthed my wanderlust, I have since visited over 30 countries across America, Europe, Asia, and Africa, as well as taking some time out of a corporate career to volunteer on a game reserve in South Africa. There is no where I feel more at peace than on the African Plains, and I can’t wait to return one day to share those moments with my family!

My absolute favourite thing, is when a person comes to me with a vague idea and lets me go to work, coming up with a plan that includes things they had not thought of. When someone likes my creation and says those magic words ‘we’d like to book’ it makes me so happy.
