A less common bee orchid has appeared. There are pyramid orchids in the area but on our property. So I was very pleased to spot this little treasure 🌸

More photos from our wonderful guests. The moonlight through some wonderful cloud formations, hoping to see the Aurora Borealis, but alas, there was too much cloud cover. A ghostly image of the horse in the neighbouring field. A glass of wine seems an excellent idea to sit outside with.

Guests have sent these photos. The c**k pheasant has been shooing away his reflection 😂😂 The hen pheasants popped over to say hello. One has the audacity to use my newly planted up pot of oleander as a dust bath! It's better than the squirrels digging it up, though! Our guests are thoroughly enjoying the antics of the wildlife. Thank you to Annette for the photos.

The blossom has been spectacular on the Kansan cherry trees this year. It is probably the best it has been yet but that might be because the trees are bigger. 🌸

A fabulous evening seeing the 25th anniversary tour of Beyond the Barricade at Weymouth Pavilion Fantastic and talented singers and musicians.
Weymouth Pavilion holds events and shows throughout the year to suit all ages and tastes. A 15 minute drive from Fossils' End.

Autumn at dusk. The cherry trees were still hanging on to their green leaves, but the last few days have been colder and they have now turned lovely shades, autumnal orange and reds. On the left-hand side of the track, the leaves are still green. Those which are more exposed are the ones that have changed colour 🍂🍁

The pheasants enjoying early morning sun out the back. Note the wood pigeon sunbathing 😍 Where we have done clearing, the pheasants have enjoyed dustbathing, it's very dry here.

If you oppose this huge Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) please sign the petition so it can be sent to Dorset Council. This application is on farmland near at Coldharbour, between Chickerell and Southill. It will be near thousands of homes, a care home, golf course, police station and wessex stadium.

As well as fire and environmental damage, the noise pollution from the site will be a continuous buzzing from the air conditioning units, and the 600 shipping containers (equivalent to about 40 full size football pitches!) housing the millions of lithium ion batteries will ruin the landscape as seen...

Something different from pheasants! I saw this little fellow whilst cutting the grass. It was up against the barn wall so no strimming was carried out. That's the first time I have seen a frog down there. It was approximately half grown. 🐸

The two chicks are growing, one is slightly shyer than the other. They crouch down when stationary, survival instinct kicking in, I suspect.

This is the first time I saw mother pheasant with her two chicks. (Friday) The earlier image was when I was on the lawn mower, so very shaky!
The two chicks stay near the long grass whilst the mother feeds on dropped sunflower hearts from the bird feeder. 🪶🪶

Mulberries in abundance. They have never ripened, the birds steal them before they have chance! I doubt this year will be any different.
