A quick walk through Park Wood from Danby to Castleton last week. You head there from the Duke of Wellington in Danby, and head towards Castleton through the wood. It's a nice peaceful walk away from the road. Gorgeous views and a place to have a picnic in the warmer months. Oh and you come out at another pub, The Eskdale Inn in Castleton. 😀

Yesterday morning, we had our first snow of the season. It was a dark morning but soon brightened up. Today, it is a crisp, bright, sunny day.

The 2025 organiser has arrived at Stony Broke Cottage and is open now for bookings.

I can't resist a good old paper diary, just like the olden days. 😀

That picture on the front of the organiser is taken from the Danby Lodge National Park Centre (Only joking but it does actually look similar 😅)

Danby Lodge is one of the North York Moors National Park Centres and is around a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute car ride from the cottage. It is dog friendly, has an art gallery, tourist information, café, indoor and outdoor play areas, crow wood, and plenty of space to have a picnic, just like in the picture on the organiser. 😁
