Ohh the new café has opened within Danby Lodge, the North York Moors National Park Centre. A nice 15 minute walk, or 5 min car drive from the cottage.

The Hog has landed...

Last year we asked you what you wanted to see from our food and drink outlet at Danby Lodge National Park Centre.

It was clear that you wanted a premise that could deliver high-quality, locally sourced, seasonal food, paired with exceptional service.

To that end, we are delighted to welcome The Truffled Hog on board to run our Danby Lodge facility.

Open 7 days a week, 9.30am – 4pm, there’s everything from quick bites such as sandwiches, cakes and coffee, to full meals; helping you relax during your visit.

Today is day one. Like everyone else, the Hog will be finding its feet over the upcoming weeks and months. But the team there are eager for you to try their new menu as soon as you’re able.

A quick walk through Park Wood from Danby to Castleton last week. You head there from the Duke of Wellington in Danby, and head towards Castleton through the wood. It's a nice peaceful walk away from the road. Gorgeous views and a place to have a picnic in the warmer months. Oh and you come out at another pub, The Eskdale Inn in Castleton. 😀
