On behalf of all of us here at Hellon Electrical Ltd I'd like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a prosperous and happy new year.

Some of our current customers and obviously friends and family will know that our son and general grafter Jack is currently laid up very ill in a hospital bed. I'd like to Thank each of you that have been patient with us at this time as I've not always been there to answer your call and finish times on jobs have been delayed but you've all been very good about it.

Also to our staff, you've kept it rolling while I've not been there, I've only been steering the ship from a distance, top notch and thank you very much.

We will back at work on 6th January 2025, we will obviously be able to accommodate emergency work over the festive period but I rather not be doing run of the mill work until we've got Jack sorted.

Here's a small 3.52kw Solar PV system we are on with installing at the moment, on a new garage at a home near Wigton. Many thanks to my owld fella for giving me a hand today, supplying a bit of muscle. It's fairly difficult to manoeuvre the panels into place and connect the wiring on your own, so was a big help.

I've just completed my 3rd course in 3 weeks.

Two were to upgrade out dated qualifications I held to the latest guidance and one was completely new to me.

Solar PV - upgrade
EV Charging - update
EESS (Battery Storage) - New

So now along with all of the services we were providing originally, we can also offer quotations, designs and installations for your Solar PV and Battery Storage requirements.

I'd like to thank Clint Stamper Training Ltd based at Wellington Farm Cockermouth, for giving me the opportunity to attend these courses.

Clint is a man after my own heart, he takes his job seriously and is passionate about delivering his knowledge to others. His knowledge is vast and he is able to deliver his training in a way that is easy to comprehend and it sticks in your head.

I would not hesitate to recommend Clint and Debbie and their training centre to every single electrician wishing to upgrade or retrain gaining different or new skills.

This is a recent heating project we designed and installed at St Margaret's Church, Wythop, nr Cockermouth.

The technology used here is FIR (Far Infra Red).
Far infrared is a form of radiant heat. Radiant heating basically means that rather than taking in the cold air, warming it up and distributing it around the room – you are heating the actual structure of the room, the objects in it and the people.

The panels consume electricity and convert this straight into heat, heating up the element on the inside (carbon crystal) which then emits Far Infrared Heat.

The church has been transformed from ice box, to a comfortable place to be.

Pond feature, bin area and covered post box area for Meadows Retreat Lodge Park .

This is a lodge park where we've carried out a full TT electrical installation, including Hook up points and bollard lighting for 52 lodges.

This was the final part of the installation recently carried out by Adam, Zak and Jack. There are colour changing submersible lights in the pond, a variable speed pump controlling the rate at which water flows through the waterfall, PIR operated carriage lights above the post boxes and Photocell operated bulkheads with in the bin area.

I'll pop back when the pond is full and at night to get a photo or video of the submersible lighting. ⚡️

But credit where credit is due and in support of another local Cumbrian business, last week Katie treat me to a couple of days away in the amazing Bluebell Lodge at Hidden River Cabins what a beautiful log cabin in the stunning Lyne Valley, literally sat on the banks of the River Lyne. If you have an opportunity to visit this place and you are in the need of extreme relaxation, I can highly recommend Hidden River Cabins.

We are contacted regularly regarding the manner in which customers to self catering apartments and cottages are charging their vehicles, generally by chucking an extension lead out of the window. Also private domestic customers are using standard extension leads and melting them on a regular basis.

These EVCPs by ICS, are 7kw and cover a wide variety of bases.

Here's a recent Consumer Unit changeover completed recently by one of the lads, as a direct result of an EICR.

If your electrical system is starting to look a little dated in areas, is well worth getting an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) carried out, it's like an M.O.T for your homes Electrical Installation. Our engineers will ascertain the condition of the wiring, the accessories and the protective devices installed to make sure you're safe in your own home.

The Unit below is top spec, incorporating both RCBO protection to each circuit and type2 Surge Protection which will protect things like boilers, computers and other electronic devices, from surges in the area.

Throwback to 2019. When I returned to a previous job after the plants had grown etc, what a lovely little courtyard light job this was....

It's always nice to come back to a nice garden lighting job when it's all had time to green up and light fittings have been given a bit of weather etc. This is one we completed a couple of years ago, looking great. Rustic Bollards lighting the path way up to the front door.

A career first for me this week..... installing a submain and connecting a circulation pump and filtration system for a freshwater swimming pool, in a customers back garden. Situated with Carrock Fell in the back ground, what a great place to start your morning with a cold water swim and amazing views.

Here's a little summer house lounge building we've just wired for a regular customer of ours. Building has been handcrafted locally from oak, what a great little space to sit and enjoy a summers evening. There's even a little c**k loft for sleeping in. Great job to have been involved with. ⚡️

Here's one of the massive projects we've been on with recently.

This has been a great project to be involved with for a few reasons, not only were we working for a great bunch of people but "outdoor living" is something really close to my heart, so it's been great to be involved with the wiring of these awesome garden buildings as well.

If you're wanting to upgrade your garden or back yard and make it look like extra special have a look down Gilwilly Estate in Penrith, Hamilton Outdoor Living and Malvern Garden Buildings. The guys down there will sort you with everything for your project.

I'm just putting feelers out to see if any electricians are looking to move from where they are working currently. I'm toying with using a sub contractor for a little while until we find the right person to come in to the team.

We are currently, massively under pressure on various contracts with start dates for new contracts looming, we also have had lots of enquiries from local firms wanting us to price their work, which at present I'm having to say no to, which I don't like doing.

If you know someone who's is looking to move on from their current job or you are that person yourself please do get in touch with Paul 07747 114058. And we can discuss the particulars of the job.

We need someone who is qualified, capable of working alone or part of a team when required, well versed with the wiring regs, able to navigate a test meter with proficiency, good at time keeping, well mannered and happy to work direct with the client, able to follow plans and specifications.

You would be joining a team of 7 electricians and apprentices and 1 office staff. So this has to be a good fit for all of us as although we are growing we are still a family company at heart and the right candidate will be made to feel part of it.

As far as im concerned I will be avoiding Indeed and other such platforms so please do share this post far and wide.
