FOR ONE HOUR ONLY Storeys funfair will be offering all rides for one token each in a bid to raise money for the Withernsea War Memorial Clock.

On Friday April 5, between 5pm and 6pm, Storeys funfair will be offering their rides for one token each. The offer will be available to all attendees of the fair.

The money raised from the sale of the tokens will contribute towards the renovation of the Withernsea War Memorial clock at St Nicholas Chuch.

Work to repair/renovate the clock will start this month and will be carried out by Smiths of Derby.

Organiser Darrin Stevens said: “This Remembrance clock was originally paid for by the people of Withernsea after the second World War £532.00 (in today’s money £29K), so it is only right we have it working again for the 80th Anniversary of the end of WW2 next year.

“We also hope to hear it chiming again for D-Day's 80th anniversary this year. Please come and buy a ride to help restore our town clock.”
