routeONE magazine have revealed the finalists from each sub-category of the routeone livery competition and we are thrilled to announce that our entry into the ‘Best Coach Livery Medium Operator’ category got through to the final !!!! 👏
We are absolutely thrilled that we have been shortlisted as a finalist of this competition, and we cant thank each and everyone one of you who voted for us enough!! We are incredibly grateful and overwhelmed!!
We can’t quite believe it 🤩 there was and still is some seriously tough competition amongst the entries, each getting to showcase as described by Routeone ‘a celebration of their identity, heritage, and the power of a first impression’, and it’s something that we are particularly proud of personally within the company. We wish all the finalists good luck and well done to everyone who entered to make the competition such a success!
So….the next stage;
The eight finalists’ liveries, as voted by YOU, will now be presented to an independent judge who will determine the overall Best Mini/Midi Livery, Best Coach Livery, and Best Bus Livery. Winners will be announced on 13th August!

While the end of term for some (mainly probably parents 😂) is met with a little bit of dread, we look forward to having a little well earned break from operating our 21 home to school transport routes that transport hundreds of local children safely to and from school every day! We couldn't do this without our amazing team of drivers, passenger transport assistants, office staff, mechanics / maintenance team who pull out all the stops to always try to provide the best service possible to our customers! THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU there really isn't enough praise for what you do!
Unfortunately there has been some changes to our service work that we need to update you all on, we will no longer be running the following;
🚫Service 266 - Kirknewton - Wooler Circular - terminated on Wednesday 17th July (now operated by Border Buses)
🚫Service 710 - Saturday - Newcastle - Terminates on Saturday 31st August (operated by Arriva Mon - Sat from 1st Sept)
🚫Service 710 - Wednesday - Wooler - Morpeth Terminates Saturday 31st August (last date Wed 28th Aug)
We are really saddened that we have lost out on tender for these local services but would love to take this opportunity to thank all of our amazing customers who have helped support these services with us over the last few decades (we think around 30 years)! Its been a pleasure to get to know you all over the years as I'm sure it's been for you getting to know the generations of the family coming through! Another thank you must be said to our dedicated service bus drivers, who do a brilliant job all year round as do our tour drivers who are flat out at this time of year travelling around the UK & Europe.

The Great Tapestry of Scotland depicts 420 million years of Scotland’s story in 160 panels and is a wonderful, rich and diverse story. But like every nation, that story contains both good and bad, some elements of which we are only now able to see and accept as part of our past. The panels here offer snapshots and when taken together create an overview of our story in stitched-art and the written word, authored by historian Alistair Moffat, illustrated by artist Andrew Crummy and stitched by our 1000+ stitchers. Some of the panels reflect on the impact Scotland has had worldwide, the positive and the negative. Others acknowledge the importance of both immigration and emigration, wealth and poverty, but most focus in on the ordinary individual and the micro stories of history.

Yesterday was our fully booked day trip to North Berwick, which despite the weather everyone had a great time with Lewis the Driver!
