👌ANDYS MAN CLUB!!! WE ARE DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE that THIS CHRISTMAS🎄we’ve teamed up with ANDYS MAN CLUB to GIVEAWAY 2 x 2 Nights to 2️⃣ of their Facilitators or Members!!! Many of them volunteers who give up tons of their time to support others, and support each other, with one clear aim, MEN’S SU***DE PREVENTION!!

Here at Minster View Holiday Apartment, York and at our sister site Withens Way Holiday Cottage, Haworth we wanted to do SOMETHING SPECIAL this Christmas for a couple of people who really deserve it! 📸 Photo to the Left: The pink arrow indicates roughly where the wrought iron gates to Talbot Court are located, which lead to a medieval half timbered courtyard frequently mentioned in historic articles. Low Petergate - one of the oldest streets in England, is named due to its proximity of York Minster, which is dedicated to St Peter. Petergate was originally the Via Principalis (the main road) through the Roman Fortress!

📸 Photo to the right: is the hidden and private gardens of Talbot Court. Only residents of Talbot Court and guests of Minster View Holiday Apartment at Number 2 Talbot Court can access these gardens. Despite being just yards from the busy Roman Road of Low Petergate, it’s an oasis of tranquility and calm and feels a thousand miles away.

Bear with us a moment whilst we explain this some more with a mini blog right here:

*DYNAMIC PRICING!? It’s been making the headlines a lot recently with everything from Pubs, Hotels and Holiday Lets. Even Oasis tickets. But what is it? Dynamic pricing is essentially a way to maximise prices or more accurately charge you the customer/ guest more based on demand.

Now it’s easy to argue that adjusting prices based on supply and demand is simple business and it’s been around for years. Think Summer Holiday breaks for example. And, honesty moment, we do adjust prices based on seasons, weekends and our competition for example - BUT, we do this once or twice a year, with us the owners assessing lots of aspects that try to ensure we retain a viable business whilst you 🫵👋 the guest, get a good value for the standard of accommodation we provide, in great locations.

So - What we will never do is adjust prices at the drop of a hat based on demand. And for short breaks and staycations the use of computers and artificial intelligence to adjust prices based on real time data that measures demand and thus charge you more is now very common. Essentially meaning you get charged more because of a nearby event, a random occasion that’s driving specific demand to an area or just because 3 or 4 people happen to be looking at our website or our holiday property on a booking platform at the same time. Put simply, we’d sooner you visit, get good value, spend the money you’ve saved in another local business (or leave it in your bank) and come back again one day soon!

We could’ve re-posted many a Remembrance Poem for this weekend; Flanders Fields, The Soldier, For the Fallen. Or the powerful war poem Dulce et Decorum est.

But as we nestle in the Shadows of York Minster, free and content in our own peaceful gardens, we thought this Yorkshire lad says it well! (And says it reight)

At the going down of the Sun, and in the morning, we will Remember them! 😔
