Restaurant "KAKHELEBI" is a cozy place on the outskirts of the city to Kakheti.
The place has a number of important advantages:
- they are OPEN and waiting for guests as early as 09:30 am! Therefore, in those cases when our tourists have a flight arriving in the morning, and it’s early to go to the hotel, but they already need to have breakfast, we go to .
- it's DELICIOUS here. Excellent Georgian cuisine. All the products are selected: aromatic vegetables, kamechis matsoni (buffalo ), and the meat is always the most tender, and is juicy and always available (many restaurants are now removing khinkali from the menu - saving themselves from unnecessary hassle in the kitchen), and you have freshly brewed in a wrapper (without trivial bags) - real Georgian cuisine without excesses in tribute to fashion, when they bring the dish to you just to try it, since you need to look for it like a work of art on a wide plate.

5 Day TOUR to TUSHETI

This mountainous region could be reached by car just 3-4 months in the year. When other months it is rarely served exclusively by helicopters.
Road that leads there is coined one of the highest and most dangerous roads in Europe. However, this place is worth to visit it. There are emerald-green valley’s cradle remote villages and pristine rivers roam through rugged terrain. These views have captured the hearts of courageous travelers worldwide. This is a mountainous corner with stark beauty and untamed wilderness, breathtaking vistas and authentic cultural experience.
As the road is unpaved and dirty and fairly difficult one even few Georgians has travelled to this region. Authenticity of Tushety expressed in its majestic highlands, tasty cuisine, saved appreciation of its ancient traditions.
This tour needs proper planning and competence. It is not something you can do with last minute call while you are travelling in Georgia.
Day 1 departure from Tbilisi
Early start is highly important here to decrease reverse traffic on the pass. In Telavi market (bazar), we stop to buy some fruits and snacks as there are no grocery infrastructure in Tusheti.
Then, on the route, there are 3 stops with tremendous views (waterfall next to Stori River Bridge, Torghva sulfur springs, Abano pass, Khiso Green Lake - finallybwe get to Omalo.
Day 2 Tusheti - villages and observation decks of Diklo и Shenako
Day 3 Tusheti - villages and observation decks of Kvavlo and Dartlo, also Que or Bezoar goat and Gontias observation decks
Day 4 Tusheti - Keselo Towers or remains of the fortress, villages and observation decks of Bochorma, Dochu, Beghels, Jvarboseli

En ⬇️ Наша гостья с Израиля - Любовь.
Любовь рассказала:
"Когда встал вопрос как справлять Юбилей, идей было две: или Париж , или Тбилиси. Просто застолье в ресторане я отмела сразу, большой банкет в кругу семьи можно сдвинуть, а вот в "МОЙ день" хочу осуществить МЕЧТУ - поеду туда, куда за столько лет не добралась - или в Париж, или в Тбилиси.
Конечно же дети и внуки переживали, в незнакомую страну, одна!!! Но я знала, что всё будет хоршо!"

Я рада, что выбор пришёлся на 5 дней в Тбилиси. Пешая экскурсия по Тбилиси, выездная в Мцхета, лёгкий шопинг за сувенирами и пара дней Люба оставила "побродить по милому Тбилиси самой".

I simply dismissed the feast in the restaurant right away, a large banquet with the family can be moved, but on “MY day” I want to fulfill my DREAM - I will go where I want I haven’t made it to either Paris or Tbilisi for so many years.
Of course, the children and grandchildren were worried about going to an unfamiliar country, alone!!! But I knew that everything would be fine!"

I'm glad that the choice came for 5 days in Tbilisi. A walking tour of Tbilisi, a trip to Mtskheta, some light shopping for souvenirs, and a couple of days left for Lyuba to “wander around lovely Tbilisi by herself.”

- большой крест символизирует Иисуса Христа , 4 малых креста по углам - 4х Евангелистов Марка , Луку, Матвея и Иоанна. Белый цвет символизирует невинность, чистоту и мудрость, а красный - отвагу, справедливость и любовь

- на военных портуланах (картах)  братьев Пиццигани 1367г., которые
хранятся в национальной библиотеке Парижа  - Тифлис отмечен бело-красным четырёх крестовым флагом.
Это свидетельствует, что нынешний флаг Грузии второй (после Дании) самый старый используемый флаг страны.

Some interesting facts:

- a large cross symbolizes Jesus Christ, 4 small crosses in the corners - 4 Evangelists Mark, Luke, Matthew and John. White symbolizes innocence, purity and wisdom, and red symbolizes courage, justice and love.

- on the military portolans (maps) of the Pizzigani brothers in 1367, which
stored in the National Library of Paris - Tiflis is marked with a white and red four-cross flag.
This indicates that the current flag of Georgia is the second (after Denmark) oldest used flag of the country.

В грузинских семьях в этот день принято печь лобиани — пирог с начинкой из фасоли. Также имеет значение, кто в этот день зайдет в дом в качестве первого гостя — эта традиция называется в Грузии «меквле» или «прокладывающий след».

Так как Святая Варвара считается покровительницей детей, на праздничные службы в храмы обычно водят много детей и подростков.

Today in Georgia we celebrate the Day of the Holy Great Martyr Barbara.

On this day, Georgian families traditionally bake lobiani - a pie filled with beans. It also matters who will enter the house as the first guest on this day - this tradition is called “mekvle” or “making a trail” in Georgia.

Since Saint Barbara is considered the patroness of children, many children and teenagers are usually taken to festive services in churches.
