We’re now five days into our three week work/play trip with the Overlando Hilux Expedition Camper, and it’s so good to be out exploring Georgia again. For our first night we returned to an old favourite from last year’s UAZ Buhanka trip… Paravani Lake. The cold and wind was a bit of a shock coming from summer-like Tbilisi, so let’s just say we’re very glad ‘The Beast’ has a heater. Campers in the Caucasus

Our campervans combine Soviet chic, modern technology and a personal touch to give you every opportunity to get to know Georgia at your own pace. With all the comforts and amenities you could ever need, we aim to provide you with your very own home away from home.

So what’s our story? We are three like-minded travellers with a love for the outdoors and adventure who came to Georgia separately back in the spring of 2018 and fell in love with it at first sight. This happened while Shash & Sasha, an Aussie and a Russian were driving through the area with a group of friends, and George, a Driving Dutchman was on a lengthy road trip through the Caucasus. We were struck by its soaring mountains, deep-rooted and unique culture, rich cuisine, and incredibly warm-hearted and hospitable people (and let’s not get started on its 8000 year history of making wine...). The UAZ Buhanka caught our eyes as the perfect machine to craft into the campervan we’ve always dreamed of, as well as a perfect representation of Soviet engineering. Combining this with our mutual love of camping, road trips and adventure we came up with the idea of creating a company that allows others to share in our experiences and discover a truly unique and awe-inspiring part of the world. Due to an incredible twist of fate, while working on our own ways to create such a company, we bumped into each other and decided to join forces and create Overlando.
