Some inconspicuous species that we are looking for through the bamboo forests, the dense marshes, and among the very large canopy mixed flocks of Intervales State Park.
A very prolific birding week, connecting with nearly all the possibles Thamnophilidae and Furnaridae of the area, along many other cool and localized species.

Intervales State Park is one of my favourite place for birding in the Sao Paulo region. A lot of trails are worth exploring, providing access to many endemic and rare birds of the southern Mata Atlantica.
Here is a short selection of some of the most stunning and iconic of them.

Back on a short 1-week tour I guided last september for Nature Experience in the southern Mata Atlantica (Sao Paulo region), one of the endemic richest area in the world.
We mainly focused on 2 areas : Trilha dos Tucanos Ecolodge and Parque Estadual Intervales.
Here is some cool species from Trilha dos Tucanos : comfortable birding, good forest trail and buzzy feeders.

A look back in pictures at a 2-week tour in French Guiana this summer for Escursia - Les voyages du vivant. We traveled the territory from one border to the other, stopping in a mosaic of habitats ranging from mature forest to coastal mangroves, through savannahs and marshes. The objective was more discovery than the search for specific rare species, but one does not preclude the other and the majority of the Guiana Shield specialties were found, for a total of 386 species contacted, of which at least 333 were observed and photographed by the members of the group.
