Earlier today - Race for Oceans Ghana Champions hosted the maiden edition of event at Jamestown Beach in Accra as part of global efforts to generate awareness and power to propel change and collective action on the challenge of ocean plastic pollution to : Life Below Water 🌊.

A social impact event of this nature can only be executed with a great team of and lovers of nature.
However, WeTravels & BraAfrika, Justice and the SOY Africa team; fellow UNLEASH Alumni Prince and the Coliba Africa team, and most importantly the 24/7 support from UNLEASH & the Race for Oceans team where there to support.
Yes, Government must step up its commitment to a clean and safe environment, particularly on plastic pollution; however, you and I must equally commit ourselves to proper sanitation practices and ensure that our family and friends are doing the same.

Change Of Location for the Ocean Rave.
We are sad to announce the change of location for Ocean Rave. Following the high tides that swept through some communities in the Volta Region, over 300 homes were affected and many lives displaced. Among the affected communities is Dzita, where GhanaMeetMeThere is located. Our hearts and thoughts are with the victims of this disaster.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused as we have to change the location for Ocean Rave, to Shatta Beach in Accra. Let all come out in our numbers to support this good cause to help fight plastics that goes in our oceans.

Okra is thought to be of African origin, particularly West Africa or Ethiopia, although others believe it has origins within South Asia.
Okra is known as okro throughout West Africa. The etymology of the word okra is traced to the 1670s in West Africa, with the name okra sounding fairly close to the Igbo (Nigeria) word, ọ́kụ̀rụ̀, as well as the Akan (Ghana, Twi) word, nkuruma. It is known by other names such as nkruma (Twi, Fante), betri or fetri (Ewe), engmomi (Ga), ila (Yoruba) and gombo (Bantu)

ADINKRA SYSMBOLS
AKOFENA [SWORD OF WAR]
The Akofena, also known as Akrafena, is a sword used by Ghana's Asante (or Ashanti) people. It is made up of three parts: a metal blade, a wooden or metal hilt, and a sheath, which is usually made of animal hide.

Akofena blades used as ritual swords do not always have sharp cutting edges. They do, however, bear Asante symbols and some have double or triple blades. Some akofena have gold leaf wrapped around the hilt with Asante symbols embossed on it, while others have the symbols embossed on the sheath.

The akofena was originally used as a war weapon, but it is also an important part of Asante heraldry. It was also combined with the Asante stool blackening ceremony.

ADINKRA SYSMBOL
AKOMA [HEART]
Akoma means "heart" and it's symbol of love, goodwill, patience ,faithfulness, endurance and consistency.
Though the heart shape is a universal symbol representing love, it is also an Adinkra symbol with a slightly different meaning. As an Adinkra, the heart shape represents patience and tolerance.
In Akan, “Nya akoma,” literally “Get a heart” means take heart–be patient. Conversely, one who is impatient is said not to have a heart: “Onni akoma.”

Nkyinkyim Musume

For 400 years, approximately 12 million Africans were transported from their homes across the Atlantic to the Americas as slaves and forced to work in mines and plantations. Kwame Akoto-Bamfo, a Ghanaian artist, has spent 6 years sculpting about 1,300 heads that depict the dehumanizing trade manipulation and exploitation which happened from the 16th to 19th century. These heads, a part of his Nkyinkyim installation, these heads pay homage to the ancestors who fell victim to the transatlantic slave trade and portray their ordeal several years ago. Nkyinkyim Museum is located at Nuhale in Ada[Ghana].
