ACQUISITION OF BIOMETRIC PASSPORTS)
The current process of acquiring Ghana biometric passports BELLOW:
• Applicant for a Ghana biometric passport must first and foremost be a Ghanaian in accordance with the Ghanaian Citizenship Law (i.e. by birth, descent, naturalization, registration and adoption).
• Additionally, a passport application form must be acquired from a designated bank such as Eco bank, ADB, NIB, Zenith Bank, GCB Bank, among others.
• An applicant is required to submit in person, a duly completed application form to any of the following Passport Application Centers (PACs):
• Accra (near Tema Station);
• Kumasi;
• Sunyani;
• Tamale;
• Ho; and
• Takoradi.
Note that completed application forms are received at the above designated Passport Application Centers.
• The completed application forms are to be submitted together with the following documents where applicable:
i. Receipt (of GHS 50 or GHS100) from the bank where the application form was purchased;
ii. Biometric birth certificate in the case of a new applicant;
iii. An old passport in the case of a renewal;
iv. Police report in the case of replacement of a missing passport;
v. A proof of profession for new applicant and those seeking to change their professions;
vi. Marriage Certificate and Gazette of change of name;
vii. An affidavit in support of change of names; and
viii. Dual Citizenship Certificate for Ghanaians who have acquired dual nationality.
