Arriving at school this morning I was not welcomed by students as usual, but by nurses, doctors, soldiers, journalists, singers, fashion designers, bank managers, queen mothers and many more. For the whole week starting from today the children will change their normal school uniforms for clothes representing the person, who they want to become in life. During break they walked in the streets around the school showing their future selves to the world. Tomorrow they are going to fill the market in Asuofua with laughter, singing and drumming. Ghana can be happy to have such a bright, creative and energetic next generation.

In order to celebrate them and the 10th anniversary of YFC there are more projects planned, like the Clean up at Asuofua followed by the big celebration on the 13th of August. Not only the junior high school students will graduate officially on this date but also other activities are taking place, including the cadet display, dancing, an exhibition, poetry recitals, the unveiling of the new bus and the donation of food items.
The year will end with a party for all students before they are going on vacation. The days off from school will give them time to relax as well as to overthink their career plans for the future. (Charlotte from Switzerland)
