At Busua, short loop and community first.
Happy saturday y’ll.
We are expecting you this week-end.

Saturday morning 7.30 am, with this young and proud fisherman from Busua, Marc. He came to us to sale crabs and prawns. What a privilege to have fresh seafood at our doorstep.

Marc is 17 years old, i know very well is mother, Effuah. The first time i meet him, he was in the womb of his mother who was pregnant with him! A very long relationship.

Community first. Support small local bizness is a key.
We are expecting you with fresh seafood!

Happy saturday y'll.

Magic Busua!

This morning, before a big wind and rain.
Children run and play on the beach. Boats dance and sway to the waves.
Peaceful, quiet and full of life. Always a pleasure to watch morning time on Busua Beach. Even after 20 years, always beautiful, village life by the sea.
All the magic of Busua in one picture.

One man convinced parents to let their daughters surf. Now they are challenging and changing social stereotypes in rural Ghana.

Our lovely ocean and Busua Beach.

Individually we are a drop of water. Together we are an ocean. Ryunosuke Satoro

An early walk to the océan with a doggy.
Always a treat. A very good and beautiful way to start the day. On the way to Abokwaa Island (about 1 km from the seaside). Our daily view at Busua Inn Busua Inn at Busua Beach, Ghana
So we are lucky, in Busua with this long beach (about 3 km) with smooth sand.

Individuellement nous sommes une goutte d'eau. Ensemble nous sommes un océan. Ryunosuke Satoro

Lovely and authentic Ahanta West, at Akwidaa Akwidaa

The little girl and the big wild almond tree, in Ezile Bay. Like a novel title. Yet a true and beautiful reality of this beautiful preserved bay. Shaded by the huge AbrofoNkate (wild almond trees). Off the beaten track. Authentic Ghana.

Watch “OBIBINI.”
In Ghana, the story of young surfer girls in Busua, thus defying many ancestral taboos. Surfing as a tool for emancipation.

Regardez « OBIBINI ».

For most of their history, Ghanaian beaches were reserved solely for working men due to a prevailing fear of drowning in the village. This restriction barred women…

For all ours sisters, hanty, cousins, mothers, friends....

Friendship, sharing, protection and sorority.
With these 3 little girls facing the ocean, facing the horizon, the immensity.
Today, I share with you some personal reflections.
Seeing moments like this, erases (largely), the darker part of Ghana (corruption, inflation etc). Life here is a package of very good or very bad, the in-between has no place here. And reminds me why I decided to live here. Give me confidence in the future of the country. However, these little girls need help in the face of a hyper-patriarchal society. Rigid and therefore overwhelming social codes. Let’s help them grow up in better conditions. Through education, employment and attention. Surfing sometimes also like the initiative of and .
Sisterhood and solidarity for my nieces, cousins and little sisters. Forever. Otherwise, what’s the point of being there? (I warned you, personal reflections!).

Big up to ours courageous ghanaian fishermen!

Big up to ours courageous ghanaian fishermen!

Fishermen came back on Busua seashore after few days on the sea.
Big up for the courageous ghanaian fishermen!
Tonight we will cook lobster creamy armoricaine sauce flambée with whisky, a traditionnal french recipie from britanny. Or chicken flambé. Or, delicous mixed vegetables salad with french dressing (no milk please!).
Eat local and think short circuit, a sustainable way of life.
