THE KING OF THE GONJA KINGDOM, YAGBONWURA PAYS A FRIENDLY VISIT TO THE KING OF THE DAGBON KINGDOM, YA NAA

The sunday sun felt weak to wake up from its slumber.

Early morning birds sang in unison one song, history history history.

Then the sun rose from the east, its rays beaming with smiles in indication of a new chapter of history about to be opened between two greater Kingdoms- Dagbon and Gonja.

Dressed in colorful cultural wears, men and women, Chiefs and followers trooped happily to the Gbewaa palace to witness what no Dagomba or Gonja could ever imagine, a Gonja king visiting the Dagbon King.

From Datoyili to Sambu, Sambu to Sankarayili, horse riders displayed dancing skills of their horses in welcoming the Yagbonwura.

Drums cried whistles blew, drummers sang praises, women ululate goosebump praises and Gonje players added the flavour to the cultural soup pot.

Culture appeared in its flamboyant state as these two Kings sat face to face in an atmosphere of friendship with benefits.

The lion shook hands with the spear and history was made.

Naa Gbewaa is the King of the single largest tribe in Ghana.

The Yagbonwura is the King of the kingdom with the biggest land mass in Ghana.

These two Kingdoms form the food basket of Ghana. Isn't it beautiful?

A new chapter of friendship with peaceful benefits have been opened between the two great neighbouring Kingdoms.
