Every year after harvesting, when the people of Matobo in southern Zimbabwe have more time on their hands, the women paint the exterior of their huts with intricate designs using charcoal, ash, water and soil.

No matter how long a log stays in water, it does not become a crocodile.
Meaning: You will always be who you are regardless of how long you fake your character.

We are Afrikans no matter where we were born ,raised ,natured. Our identity cannot be erased because We are the melanin by which all colours radiates from.

Dance of the women warriors, Abomey, Benin, 1971 by Eliot Elisofon

The dance of the women warriors recalls the existence in the eighteenth century of Amazons as a fighting force in Dahomey's foreign wars as well as a royal bodyguard.

The Kingdom of Dahomey was an important regional power that had an organized domestic economy, significant international trade with European powers, a centralized administration, significant taxation systems, and an organized military. Notable in the kingdom were significant artwork, all-female military units known as the Dahomey Amazons, and elaborate religious practices of Vodun with the large festival of the Annual Customs of Dahomey.

In 1894, the Kingdom was colonized by France and made part of French West Africa, French rule lasted until 1960, after which the again-independent nation became Republic of Dahomey, and later Benin in 1975.

Life is like a shadow and a mist, it passes quickly by,and is no more.
Life is short, and only live it once.
Send your child where he wants to go, and you will see his pace.
Passion must always drive our actions.

Afrika for Afrikans by Afrikans is the passion that will see our next generation wear unwavering smiles that older generations have not enjoyed.

Let us imagine
Knowing we left a better future for our next generation to inherit.
Not poverty , hunger, economic and mental slavery.

Afrika is strong
Afrika has bled for far too long
Afrika has looked on helpless for far too long as it's promising sons been killed like fowls
Afrika we know has it all to feed us including "them"
Oh Mama Afrika be awakened from thou slumber
Let the spirit of Ubuntu flow through all your lands
The spirit that makes your sons choose death over slavery like Nigerians did at sea.

The is a Ghanaian proverb that says "The best way to eat an elephant in your path, is to cut him up into little pieces."
The best approach to solving a problem is to take it bit by bit; one at a time.
You have awakened
Never to go back into deep sleep anymore.

We are Afrikans not because we were born in Afrika but because Afrika is born in us

History

Shaka Zulu the Zulu/Nguni king is labelled a tyrant and a dictator simply because he gave the Europeans a challenge. He gave them a hard time colonising his land. Half of the things you know about him isn't true. In fact his name isnt Shaka but Sgidi ka Senzangakhona. He had his own traditional healer and prophet by the name of Sethayi. This prophet/traditional healer was the one that foretold him about the whites that will come to his land and colonise it. This is why he was prepared and challenged the Europeans in every way. He defeated them during the war and knew their strategies. Do not for one reason believe that he sold the country for a piece of mirror this is one of the Europeans lies. The Europeans never ruled this land when he was still alive. This is why they bribed his brother Dingane to kill him. It is then after the Europeans had a chance to conquer.

Prince Klaas, Born in the Gold Coast. In 1736 planned a revolt to overturn slavery in Antigua but Unfortunately was discovered & he was executed. Had it gone as planned, it would have made Antigua the first African ruled independent nation outside Africa. https://ghanaianmuseum.com/the-horrifying-execution-of-prince-klaas-the-slave-from-ghana-who-planned-to-make-antigua-an-african-state

HISTORY

The Akyease Stool and Royal family, belongs to the EKUONA Abusua (matriclan).

The family and Stool, originate from Adansi.

However in the tumultuous years of the 1690’s, during the tyrannical rule of Dankyirahene Odeefuo Ntim Gyakari,

many families from Dankyira, and Adansi which bordered Dankyira, emigrated to other Akan areas such as Akwamu, Kwaeman and Akyem, in order to escape the misrule and intermittent attacks from Dankyira.

The Ekuona royal family of Akyease emigrated from Adansi to Akyem. With the defeat of Dankyira in late 1700; and the formation of Asante in January 1701, several families who had fled from the Dankyira and Adanse areas, decided to settle in Asante to be under the welcoming and protective umbrella of Osei Tutu Opensuo, the Asantehene.

Osei Tutu and his Chief Priest Okomfo Anokye assured emigrants to the new Asante Nation, that they will be treated as equals and integrated into Asante.

In return, the emigrants helped to strengthen and expand the frontiers of the newly formed ASANTEMAN. This is how Asanteman became a refuge for all.

And, this explains the Osei Tutu-Komfo Anokye policy that everyone was to be treated as Osantenii, regardless of language or origin. Thus, in Asante revealing the background of anyone is considered an unspeakable taboo, punishable by death. A Chief who wantonly reveals the ancestry of a subject, faces possible destoolment. Asante has remained, out of many, ONE.

When Opoku Ware Katakyie succeeded Osei Tutu in 1717, he continued the policy of encouraging and welcoming others to emigrate to Asante. Okatakyie therefore, sent word to Nana Kwadwo Dua I, direct ancestor of the Nana Tabono Bonsu III, to settle in Asante to help build the Nation.

Nana Kwadwo Dua accepted the offer, and with his sister Nana Odowaa Kyei, and their people came to Asante and settled finally, at AKYEASE…. Now 35 miles from Kumase on the Kumase-Konongo road, by way of Bomfa.

Nana Odowa Kyei’s son Nana Tabono Bonsu I ruled Akyease in the 1720’s through the 1730’s..

Today their grandchild…… rules Akyease as Nana Tabono Bonsu III.

He swore the Oath-of-Allegiance to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on April 11, 2019. He serves Otumfuo Santehene through Otumfuo Gyaase Fekuo, headed by Buabasa Adu Bofuo, Otumfuo Gyaasehene.

Nana Tabono Bonsu has proverbially hit the ground running. He has embarked on several projects to transform his town, and the community. He deserves our encouragement, prayers, and support. We wish Nana Tabono Bonsu III all the best.

Mo Opeafo, Nana.
