Kente is a Ghanaian texture made of handwoven cloth strips of silk and cotton.It worm by most southern Ghanaian ethnic groups including the Akan, the Ga and the Ewe.
Kente cloth is special on many level around the world the unique pattern and colours are easily identifiable as a representation of West Africa culture.This give each kente design its own unique symbolic value. Kente cloth may symbolic the wearers status or Mark a festive occasion.
Although Kente cloth is now identified with the Akan people in West Africa and particular the Asante kingdom the term original with the neighboring Fante people.

Kente cloth is closely related to Adinkra cloth which has symbols stenciled in to cloth and is associated with mourning.
