How the present day Takyiman came into being.
👇👇👇
TECHIMAN KINGS, FROM THE AMOWI CAVES TO THE PRESENT DAY TECHIMAN:-
Preamble
The Amowi caves are underground caves near Fiema. Techiman Bono history has it that the Techiman people came out from the those holes (caves). Our ancestors crossed the Black Volta river after a fierce battle with the Mossi people in the North. They then hid in the woods and caves around Amowi, from 1295-1595. They further moved from Amowi to Bono Manso and to the present day Techiman.
Below were the kings who led the people of Techiman in their various settlements during their epoch and tumultuous history (a continuation from Friday June 12, 2015).
Bono Manso (1595-1772):- From the Amowi Caves, the Bono Techimans moved to Bono Manso where they were very successful in trading and below were the kings who led them.
Nana Yeboah Anata -1595-1606 (Bono Manso)
Note: There was a 3 year gap in successions because there was a controversy as to was qualified to mount the throne; though it was the turn of the Obunumankoma royal gate, the Akumfi Ameyaw gate ambushed them, hence the migration of the Obunumankoma side to the south-Mankesim.
Nana Ati Kwame -1609-1618 (Bono Manso)
Nana Ameyaw Krompe or Kwompe -1618-1633 (Bono Manso)
Nana Afena Diamono - 1633-1639 (Bono Manso)
Nana Owusu Aduam - 1633-1649 (Bono Manso)
Nana Akumfi Ameyaw ll - 1649-1659 (Bono Manso)
Nana Kofi Asamankwa -1659-1664 (Bono Manso)
Nana Owusu Akyeampon -1664-1669 (Bono Manso)
Nana Gyamfi Kumanini -1669-1684 (Bono Manso)
Nana Boakye Tenten -1684-1692 (Bono Manso)
Nana Kyereme Pambour -1692-1712 (Bono Manso)
Nana Kwakye Ameyaw l -1712-1740 (Bono Manso); Bonos were very prosperous at his reign but the Asante wars weighed heavily during his reign.
Nana Ameyaw Gyamfi - 1749-1772 (Bono Manso); no information for the 9 year gap.
Bono Techiman ( Takyiman)1772 to Present
Note: The present day Techiman (Takyiman) was founded or established by a Techimanhene's Krotihene called Nana Takyi Firi when they were living at Bono Manso. Nana Takyi Firi was hunter and hunted all the way from Bono Manso to the present day Techiman where he discovered many rivers such as Atweredan, Aponkosu, Afiaso, Tano, etc. He established a hamlet and made the place his hunting ground and later informed his overlord the Bono Mansohene who subsequently moved his people to join Nana Takyi Firi, hence the saying in Techiman that the town belongs to the Krotihene and his people. Below were the kings who ruled them till today:
Nana Ati Kwadwo - 1772-1783 (Techiman)
Nana Kyereme Kwafi Tuahyeresie - 1783-1831 (Techiman)

Nana Gyarko ll - 1887-1900 (Techiman)
Nana Konkoroma -1900-1908 (Techiman)
Nana Yaw Frimpong Kramo -1909-1927 (Techiman): had a tough time with the British Commissioner at Wenchi and the Asantes, he was instrumental with the road construction linking Techiman to Sunyani but was considered cruel by the people and eventually betrayed by his wife and was killed.
Nana Yaw Ameyaw - 1928-1935 (Techiman): one year gap because there was an upheaval in Techiman following the murder of Nana Yaw Kramo.
Nana Kwasi Twi-1935-1936 (Techiman); overthrown by the British and Asantes because he refused to serve the Asantes who were used by the British to collect taxes from the Techimans.
Nana Yaw Ameyaw -1936-1937 (Techiman); Nana Kwasi Twi was replaced by Nana Yaw Ameyaw by the British hoping he would do their biding by he also refused. In fact, Techiman was having a lot of problems with the British and the Asantes at this time, all the way to the time of Nana Akumfi Ameyaw lll.
