The Caledonian Sleeper is an overnight train service that runs between London Euston station and various destinations in Scotland, including Thurso, a county in Caithness. ITA Airways takes off, ending Alitalia's turbulent life following years of unprofitability.

On 24 August 2021, Alitalia announced that it would cease flights after 15 October 2021, and that passengers with tickets for later flights could reschedule on an earlier flight or request a refund. On 15 October 2021, its operations and assets were transferred to ITA Airways, a new state-owned flag carrier.

United Airlines will fly to five brand-new destinations next year in its largest-ever transatlantic expansion and will be adding new routes that were interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the company shared with Travel + Leisure on Thursday.

The airline will now include flights to Amman, Jordan; Bergen, Norway; Azores, Portugal; Palma de Mallorca, Spain; and Tenerife in the Spanish Canary Islands. United will also launch seven routes that were interrupted by the pandemic, including Bangalore, India; Frankfurt, Germany; and Nice, France.

Earlier this year, United launched their route to and from Ghana. It is the only airline serving Accra nonstop from D.C. and the only airline offering premium economy seats between the U.S. and Ghana.
