For the - Afodat Read and Rise Project initiated by Kwame Baidoo & Samuel Akpalu
This is a transformative endeavour designed to empower approximately 70 children from deprived communities in Brimso Apewosika, Asebu Putubiw, and adjoining communities in the Abura Asebu Kwamang district, located in the Central Region of Ghana. These communities, often facing socio-economic challenges, will benefit greatly from the educational and cultural opportunities provided by this project.
Vision:
Our vision is to empower the children in the deprived communities in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese district in the Central Region of Ghana through the joy of reading, providing them with valuable literacy skills and a lifelong love for books. We aim to enhance their educational opportunities, cultural understanding, and personal growth, while preserving and celebrating African traditions.
Mission:
Our mission is to create a nurturing and engaging environment where children can develop strong reading habits, critical thinking abilities, and a deep appreciation for literature. Through interactive activities, storytelling, and access to a diverse range of books, we strive to cultivate their curiosity, imagination, and communication skills.
Expected Outcomes:
a. Improved Literacy Skills: By participating in the reading project, we expect the children to enhance their reading comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency, empowering them to excel academically and beyond.
b. Cultural Preservation: Through carefully curated books and storytelling sessions, we aim to expose the children to African literature, folktales, and cultural heritage. This will foster a sense of pride, identity, and understanding of their own heritage.
