Drone footage of Wadih Dam in WA the Regional capital of Upper West Region.
This has been relevant to the people of as is the biggest dam in the town
The dam was named after the contractor who out of his foresightedness thought it would serve the people for decades.
Even though urbanization seems to be enveloping the sources or waterways of filling up the dam, it still holds a significant volume of water for fishing, construction works, household usage, animal drinking, and cooling pool for both adults and children who can't afford to go to a modern swimming pool.
Wadih will forever be remembered for this unique Intervention.
What legacy do today's contractors leave behind after a project ex*****on?
Is it shoddy work?
A good name they say, is better than riches.

Making Money Out of the Fragile Savanah Vegetation

It is fact that, the Vegetation in Northern Ghana serves as a major source of livelihood to majority of the rural households.
It is therefore worrying to witness the gradual destruction and loss of Vegetative cover especially by the action and inaction of human actors.
Among the numerous tree plant in the wild that are edible and highly consumed by both humans and animals is the silk cottontton known in Sisaala as fufuwhich la, in Dagaare is called vaga, in Dagbani is called Tikari, etc.
Bombax Costatum, like other trees of the genus Bombax, is commonly known as a cotton tree. More specifically, red silk-cotton or red cotton tree.
The flower Part of the tree serves as its leavesweakenedd by the wind drops to the grounds and serves as food for animals both wild and domesticated.
This fallen red-slik and flower-like product is used in preparing soup for T.Z. This delicacy is highly patronized in the five Northern Regions of Ghana and even in Neighboring Burkina Faso and Mali.
Against this background, women in rural communities and in areas with a heavy presence of vegetation do go into the wild to collect these products for both household use and sale.
There is a recent price increase in Burkina Faso for this product despite many years of exportation from the Sisaala area to the Leo market in Burkina Faso.
My personal search revealed that a 100 kg maximum bag of these products is sold for Ghc 200.00 in the Leo market.
It is no surprise, to see tricycles and Kia trucks load these products to Leo and through Tumu for sale.
This is mostly done by women who are the breadwinners in most cases.
The price of these products is almost equal to the current price of maize which goes for between Ghc 300.00 and Ghc 330.00 around the Sisaala area.
Climate Change is therefore a big threat to this particular source of livelihood and hence needs to be curbed or its impact mitigated.

What Has Been Eluding Many of Us

If indeed genuine suffering is what is making all rich people f**ken dosted then these merchants especially those from the Zabbarima extraction from Niger would have had the richest people in West Africa.
The hustle continues so far as man must eat and drink.
Mr.Abubakri popularly known as Buba is very known in the whole of the Upper West Region for his humility, honesty, trustworthiness, and sociability.

This man in his late 70s opted to resort to the environment for a living. He hoes for the straw to come to make Zana mats for use as roofs for local houses, and windshields at pubs or eateries and many others. He sells them at the Prata market in Burkina Faso. He sometimes sells them to people in Ghana.
To him, climate change is a disaster and a big threat to his source of livelihood and that of his dependents.

The Rot Started from the Various Regions

When at all, will scouts of the Ghana Football Association ever comb around the nook and cranny of this country to fish out talented lads for naturing into the stars we aspire to see.
If the Upper West Regional RFA chairman will feel big to visit League venues as well as just watch one match out of three to four consecutive League seasons, how will such a person recommend a talented Footballer to the Association others he recommending a relative to such.
This is the state of our Football administration in the country.
The RFA office has become a state for one person to unleash his autocratic prowess while the masses look on.
So much talents wasting up in the rural areas.

The Young Burkinabe Producing An International Beer in the Midst of Turmoil

A story is told of a young Burkinabe by the name of Mr. Stephan who has taken entrepreneurship to another level.
Mr. Stephan, about 36 years of age was born to a French-trained food engineer and hence has himself tasted education in France.
With the science running through the family, Mr. Stephan studied Craft Beer, a course that is centered on beer-making.
Coming from Africa where little motivation or support system for the application of knowledge, especially scientific knowledge, he defied the odds and began a brewery industry from a small corner in Ouagadougou the capital city of Burkina Faso.
According to him, the focus is not only to produce beer but serve as a market for local produce such as red sorghum, white sorghum, tamarin, and others.
He added that he sought to also educate the local brewers that if technology is injected into their small industries, there will be a bigger market awaiting them even in Europe.
A visit to Mr. Stephan's brewery industry is met with a scientific process coupled with different tanks for heating and storage till the final process of bottling the drinks.
Mr. Stephan says about 10 young men and women have been employed directly and many others indirectly employed in the transportation and sale of the drinks.
Some of the drinks produced in his brewery include ranoodo, mira ,gingembre, mangue, and mangue-were
According to him, his market stems beyond Burkina Faso especially his beer which tastes almost the same as German beer.
This is because he uses the standards in the production of German beer though with local raw materials dominating.
Both red and white sorghum are used specifically for beer production whereas tamarin is used in tamarin drink production and ginger for a ginger drink.
According to an unverified source, 1 billion CFA worth of beer is consumed in a day and Burkina Faso.
He says with a little support from the government, he can scale up the industry and hence create more employment opportunities for the teeming Burkinabe youth.
Against this background, he welcomes whatever support from International organizations especially those into agribusiness to make his dream come through.

One of the Most Attractive and Entertaining Night Clubs in Ouagadougou

When you find yourself in Ouagadougou especially during the festive season or on weekends don't forget to pass by one of the most patronized Night Clubs in the City called "Stress Out"
"Stress Out" Night Club located just by one of the highways in the city hosts one of the biggest live bands in the country.
Their live band shows attract all walks of life since the well-known musicians perform there.
Here, you are treated with the francophan songs and the mesmerizng dance display by their ladies.
I and my group were fortunate to have experienced one of their scintillating shows where the powerful female artist by name Audray performed. It was a wow when she performed the songs of Alpah Blondy of Ivory Coast.
