Ada Island Zoo too is another site to behold .....

Though they call it a zoo , you can count the number of animals there , lol ; they have thus one python , a well full of Crocs and turtles 🐢.

A raft of ducks that are seen swimming .

Pass through anytime you on a trip to aqua safari , the local canoe guys can take you on that jolly ride....

A day after my 29th birthday in June, after the partial lockdown, my friend and I did a trip to Ada .

We really lucked out when we came across Maks Guest House along the Volta River (there is a Maks Guest House in town, but it is older and the location is not as pretty. I believe the one we were staying at was the annex). The river is beautful and the owner of the guest house had really built up the river front part of her property to make it very inviting. We spent many hours there relaxing and eating the night we arrived by the fire side .

The rooms were good, but the water front was the real attraction.

We ate most meals at the hotel and were never disappointed eventhough the menu was a bit limited compared to some of the other hotels in the area.

Its special location at the estuary that ensures a quick transportation along the Volta River up to the North of the country...... Makes traveling by water easy right ?

Kokrobite, a suburb in the greater Accra Region , has been enticing tourists for its pictorial beaches. The stunning beaches are ideal destinations for vacations and paradise for people indulging in water sports.
There are many beaches in and around Kokrobite , each with its unique mystic beauty.

Well , On Sunday I visited 1954 , an old private beach .My main aim was to swim/walk along the shores and later relax (I carried a mat😁) .
I grabbed some groceries at the Westhills Mall and drove straight up the hill.

And I could already smell the sea air in the breeze. My spirits lifted, though I was quite tired from a trip to Akosombo the previous day (got a jist about that place too ) as I walked through the alley towards the gates that takes you to the beach itself mehnnnn ! I forgot how tired I was and grabbed my mat , laid it nicely , picked my drink & food and enjoyed myself (everyone knows I like food 😄) even had a bite of the famous nkosua ne meko (boiled egg 🥚 with pepper 😋 from a hawker passing by .

The sea wasn’t that calm tho it had some gentle waves here and there . The hot sand was begging me to take a nap there, sooo I did, for about 30-45 mins . I woke up feeling so so refreshed and I want to do this everyday !!
How I wished I could stay there forever.

about the Odwira Festival . It was initiated by the 19th Okuapemhene of Akropong, Nana Addo Dankwa 1 who ruled from 1811 to 1835. First celebrated in October 1826, its significance is linked to the victory of the people of Okuapemman over the then-powerful Ashanti army during the historic battle of Katamansu near Dodowa in 1826.
Odwira is also a time of spiritual cleansing, when the peoples Okuapemman, and all who celebrate, present themselves anew and pray for protection.

It’s the maiden edition of the ADOMI INTERNATIONAL RIVER FESTIVAL organized by Apprisemusic & The Asuogyaman District Assembly.

The 4 day event which started on the 7th August,2019 with a Durbar of chiefs coupled with heavy Cultural performances.

So this is a little intro about this whole new me (a bit nervous 😬 about this )

I have always enjoyed reading blogs. I catch myself engrossed in new blogs every time I browse Pinterest and instagram of course 🙃 . There's something fascinating about travel blogs and vloggers (adventure blogging on the whole)

When I need restaurant recommendations, I look to blogs. Product reviews - blogs. Travel tips - blogs ( Haven’t travelled out of Ghana 🇬🇭 yet , but I still read about it anyway🤷🏽‍♀️) ideas for food especially less expensive but good food in and out Accra , I look to blogs (okay, so technically, I do konkonsa all over 😂😂)....basically, blogs are the answer for so many of my "pain points" or should I say my stress reliever in life. I have always found bloggers admirable and toyed with the idea of a blog for about 2 years now after my moms passing (May Her Soul Rest In Peace ☮️) What always deterred me is that I didn't have a strong interest in one specific thing to have a narrow focus.

Until.........

I fell in love with freeing myself from a state of confusion through traveling and appreciating nature . I’m used to lining up lists of the cities I’d love ❤️ to visit and somehow that list is just growing and growing but I’d surely visit all of them one day but starting with Ghana 🇬🇭 first and mainly been taking long weekend trips to anywhere I can. I want to see the world and share it with anyone and everyone who's interested in hearing about it.
