December 29, 1790 marks the death of the famous mathematician Thomas Fuller, known as the "Mental Calculator".

Died on December 29, 1790, the late Thomas Fuller was an African slave known for his skills in mathematics. He was captured in Africa by white slaves and shipped to the USA in 1724 when he was only 14.

He was so good at math, he could do unimaginable calculations. One day when they asked him how many seconds there were in a year and a half, he answered in approximately two minutes, 47304000. Pro-abolitionists and white philanthropists used his talent as proof that Black slaves were equal to Whites in intelligence.
Thomas Fuller, was a very great Mathematician, but unfortunately forgotten about history.

This December 29 marks the 233rd anniversary of his death.

THE AMAZIGH!

Amazighs are very likely the direct descendants of the Mesolithic and Neolithic Caspian populations that live between 8000 and 2700 BC in North Africa. The reason why there are many Amazigh groups that are quite different from each other is the vast extent of the North African territory where they have live for millennia. Each region has its specific geographical characteristics imposing therefore a specific lifestyle. That's why the northern regions of North Africa that have a Mediterranean climate with regular seasons has a sedentary population, while hotter and arid regions in the High Plateaus and the Sahara have nomadic populations.

The Amazighs live in scattered communities across Morocco 🇲🇦 Algeria 🇩🇿 Tunisia 🇹🇳 Libya 🇱🇾 Egypt 🇪🇬 Mali 🇲🇱 Niger 🇳🇪 and Mauritania 🇲🇷 They speak various Amazigh languages belonging to the Afro-Asiatic family related to ancient Egyptian.

The Amazighs, indigenous to North Africa, have a rich and ancient culture. Their traditional crafts, including jewellery, pottery, weaving, and henna art, hold great value and have been passed down for generations.

The heaviest concentration of Amazighs speakers is found in Morocco. Major Amazigh languages include Tashelhit (Tashelhiyt, Tashelhait, Shilha), Tarifit, Kabyle, Tamazight, and Tamahaq.

In North Africa, the The Amazighs religion was based on Phoenician and Punic deities, with a god (Baal) and a goddess (Tanit).

THE Y0RUBA (Present-day South West Nigeria 🇳🇬 ) 0RIGINS OF THE GA PE0PLE IN GHANA 🇬🇭

The Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has revealed that the Gã people of Ghana originated from Ile Ife, the ancestral home of the Yoruba people.

The Oni of Ife made this statement when King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II of Gã State visited Ile Ife, Osun State. He described the visit as a homecoming of Oduduwa’s lòst descendants.

The king of the Gã people also acknowledged that their ancestral home was Òtu Ifẹ̀, which is the present-day Ile-Ife.

The Gã people are believed to have left with one of the deities of Ile Ife, Olokun deity, which they worship even till the present day.

The Gã people reside on the southeast coast of Ghana and speak the Kwa language. Also, the ancient capital city of the Gã people is the present-day capital of Ghana, Accra.

Meet The McKoy sisters.

The conjoined twins Millie and Christine, were born into slavery in Whiteville North Carolina on July 11, 1851.

Their parents Jacob and Monemia McKoy were slaves of a blacksJabez McKay.

The twins were conjoined at the lower spine, which put them at a 90-degree angle with one another.

They were sold by McKay when they were 10 months old to John C. Pervis, so Pervis could put them on display all over the world (from USA, Europe, Canada) and then pay their slave owners a percentage.

‪Often referred to as the "Two-headed Nightingales" thanks to their singing abilities, the twins were treated as objects of curiosity, inspection, and exploitation from the moment of their birth to their retirement from public life.

Always impeccably dressed in surviving photos, their lives laid at the intersection of fashion, sl@very, and dis@bility studies.‬

Emancipation Proclamation ended their slavery reuniting them with their mother. Against all odds, they became well educated, met Queen Victoria, learned to speak 5 languages, became writers and singers, and lived a prosperous, successful life.

In their 30s, they moved back to the farm in Whiteville where they were born, which their father brought from the slave owner.

On October 8, 1912, Millie and Christine died of tuberculosis at the age of 61. They were buried in unmarked graves, but in 1969, they were moved to a beautiful cemetery in Whiteville.
