đź“Ť GHANA NATIONAL MOSQUE
The Ghana National Mosque is a mosque in Ghana. It is the second largest mosque in West Africa.
The mosque was built at a cost of $10million. It was funded by the Turkish Hudai Foundation in Accra with the support of the Turkish government.
The construction began in 2012. It is believed the project was started by the Muslim community in Ghana and was abandoned close to 10 years because of lack of funds.
The mosque is built in an Ottaman revival style with four signature minarets towering about 65m above the ground. It is claimed to be a replica of the blue mosque. It is made of Carrara marble exterior fittings. The upper levels of the interior of the mosque are dominated by blue paints, with stained glass windows with designs. The inner decorations are made of hand-drawn calligraphic verses of the Quran. The floors are covered with carpets. The mosque has a mihrab made from sculptured marbles, with a stalactite niche and a double inscriptive panel above it. The exterior feature is arranged with cascade of domes around the main dome.
The mosque is located at Kanda (kawukudi) in Accra.
The mosque was commissioned on Friday 16th July 2021 by Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo, President of Ghana. The commissioning was also attended by dignitaries from Turkey, Niger and Ghana including the Vice President of Ghana Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the National Chief Imam of Ghana Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharubutu.
The mosque is claimed to be a 15,000 seater-capacity mosque complex built on a 42-acre land. It has an office complex for the National Chief Imam, project managers and others, a morgue, a library, a school, dormitories, workers and guests residences, and a fitted clinic with laboratories and pharmacy. It has a minaret which can be seen from many parts of Accra.
This beautiful complex is a replica of the famous blue mosque in Istanbul, Turkey which has become one of the most visited mosque in the world for the purposes of tourism.
Istanbul - the city of mosques
I hope and pray that we will take care of this mosque and build it’s profile as a tourist destination for travelers coming to this country. It is such a beauty.
So far so good, I love the arrangements. So much work by a lot of people who make sure it is maintained well. From the technical to the security to the maintenance guys.

Traveling around Ghana is so expensive these days. The budget friendly facilities are struggling and you can’t even blame them with all the taxes they have to pay. They eventually push these taxes to us, the patrons. I won’t even touch on the luxurious ones.
Transportation is a different headache.
These two, transportation and accommodation will take the higher percentage of your budget.
Ghanaians living in Ghana can hardly afford these facilities and it’s sad. The last thing on the average Ghanaian’s mind is a vacation when there is rent and other expenses to thing about. Sad.

📍 WA NAA’S PALACE
Wa Naa’s Palace is the home to the king of the Waala people who are said to be the majority in Wa in the Upper West Region of Ghana.
It is located in the heart of the Wa municipality and the home of the entire family, palace staff and officials of the kingdom. It is the place for cultural, political, religious and social importance for the local people.
In the palace, the chief sits on either a skin of a lion or antelope where as the others sit on the skin of a cow or sheep.
The building is made from traditional Sudanese mid-brick architecture. The architectural style is a combination of forms and influences from the Moorish architecture and Sahel-Sudan according to some sources. It is claimed that few historic earthen buildings of this nature remained in the Upper West Region because of inadequate skilled artisans that are needed to maintain the building.
The palace is regarded as one of the finest and last remains of ancient architectural buildings which needs to be preserved.
The palace is also known to be the grave site for former kings who are buried in front of the palace.
Getting there
You will find a bus in almost every regional capital in Ghana to Wa. Alternatively, you can take a flight from the Kotoka International Airport, Accra or the Tamale Airport in the Northern Region to Wa.

đź“ŤBUNSO ECO PARK REVIEW

Bunso Eco Park is located in the Eastern Region of Ghana; two and half hours from the capital, Accra. It is located in the Bunso community on the Accra Kumasi highway.
It is easy to get there because the Accra Kumasi highway is one of the busiest highways in Ghana. You will almost always find a car using that route. You can find public transportation to Bunso at Madina station, circle neoplan station, Accra Tudu Station, etc. Alternatively a group of people can also organize themselves and rent a bus.
The Bunso Eco Park is your all in one place, very serene and also family friendly. There are a lot of activities you can partake in including horse riding, zip line, canopy walk, nature tour, nature talk, picnics, etc. There is also a children’s play ground available.
Entry and Activity fees are relatively affordable. With about 70gh-80gh you can enjoy all activities. However , you have the option to pay for certain activities and partake in only those ones. Entry fee is compulsory. Children/kids will pay less. Snacks and small chops are available on site but I would advise you go with your own food/drinks/water. You can just pack something in a lunch box/backpack and you will be fine.
All in all, the Bunso Eco Park is a great place to go to away from all the noise of the capital. You will enjoy the road trip and will definitely enjoy the activities on site.
