“Y O G A in action is the practice of discipline, self-study and faith. Patanjali (2:1) Let’s unpack this beautiful sutra that so nicely goes with New Year’s resolutions.

❓How well do you know your reactions to cues?

➡️ Imagine it’s morning ☀️(the cue) and you know you’ll have your first hot drink ☕️(habit) which brings you contentment 🙂 (reward). Now imagine another situation- You see your favourite friend 👯‍♀️ (cue) and you are already full of good vibes 😎(habit) from the good laugh 😹 and chat that’s about to follow (reward).

But there are also cues that provoke negative reactions. That pile of laundry 🧺 you see in the bathroom or the sight of a full parking 🅿️ lot that upsets you. I am sure that through a proper self study, you can create a list that could fit quite some pages.

❌ If you are not happy with your reaction to the cues, think about small possible changes and substitute reactions that can create a habit you’ll be more happy about. One tiny step at the time of course!

And- don’t forget to be your own cheerleader 🕺! That’s what faith in yourself is all about.
