I made this teaset for friend who had the idea for the red inside the mugs... Honestly I couldn't imagine that it was nice with the brownish melted earthenware slip... but surprisingly it worked out and I like it a lot..

...best Coffee ever... fresh brewed!
Yesterday my favourite coffee spoon fell down and broke .. it's was just the first reflex to shout out f.ck!! Then I did some Ginsugi (銀 継ぎ) to it..."kintsugi" with silver.
It should be as solid as the stoneware itself!
I think it's not bad ☺️ ...

..I loved making this little lemon juicer the other day🥰
and I was wondering how good it will do its job...if the commercial, plastic ones are better 🤔
Just for you to know: it's working fantastically! All juices coming out and it's for sure more hygienic than the plastic ones!

Love the way this "onggi" aged after these years I've let it out in the weather..I believe I built it back in 2015.. I didn't specially liked it when it looked new 🤨 now I do 😊
Hand built with earthenware clay from the Peloponnese peninsula and covered with a white stoneware slip from Devon (England)

..Acorn tea set..burnished and smoke fired
every winter I enjoy to use this teapot I made a couple of years ago. It needs a special treatment as it's unglazed, raw ceramics. The tea tastes wonderful out of it 😋 but after I used it and rinsed it with clear water, I put it on top of my wood stove to let it dry out completely! ..open, with the lid beside it. Like that it remains clean! Although it's burnished, the ceramic has it's fine pores!....☝️
I love it though...that no glaze (glass) is between my lips and the ceramic... it has such a lovely velvet feel! 🍃

This time these olive wood and oak ashes melted at around 1300°C (gaskiln)...I wouldn't have dared to fire that high, but my temperature probe wasn't working properly and the temperature gauge displayed a lot less! 😬
So, again a lesson learned: never trust only in technology! I should have closer check the colour of the fire and trust my intuition! At least a glossy shining "root design" showed up and it seems to me like the rise of the "phenix from the ashes"...the never ending circle of life ❣️

Thanks to for pushing me making lamps again ...after 10 years..😛
I still like this greens and yellows blending into each other.
The burnished surface doesn't need any glaze, if they are for indoors.. a little beewax polish protects and inhances the satin shine of the bare clay when fired🥰

a bowl with a story... 🙌

Newly mended fluted bowl with 23 carot gold kintsugi . I love the soft sheen of real kintsugi which is a very lengthy process using natural materials. This will hopefully be the perfect gift from a patient to his surgeon - two types of repair in the pursuit of saving something precious.

Why not gift someone a repair? Probably the piece will become even more beautiful than before.

I had to be sure, that the measurements are right for fitting the butter in it afterwards...
I remember years ago, that after firing the dish shrinked too much and I had always to have breakfast first before I could fit the butter in.... it's a bit tricky with these squared pieces as they shrink very differently! This dish will be for my mom, so it has to be not too heavy and easy to handle. No doubt, what colours for it she will going for 😁 ...blue/white...I guess she won't read the post until the end...😂 I will ask her later on the phone ..
