W zamierzchłych czasach, wejścia do portu Mandraki strzegł „kolos z Rodos”- gigantyczna statua wykonana z brązu, przedstawiająca Heliosa, boga Słońca. W czasie trzęsienia ziemi w 226 r.p.n.e. posąg się przewrócił i prawdopodobnie nadal spoczywa na dnie morza. Dziś wejścia do portu strzegą jedynie dwie niewielkie rzeźby przedstawiające sarnę i jelenia- znaki herbowe wyspy. Kto się wybiera?

Numele original al plajei Anthony Quinn din Insula Rodos, este Vagies? Acesta a fost schimbat de catre localnici cu numele marelui actor, d**a terminarea filmarilor pentru “Tunurile din Navarone”. Plaja este cunoscuta ca fiind una dintre cele mai linistite de pe insula si pentru apa limpede si verde care se intalneste acolo.
